My dad has an unopened bottle of bourbon from 1976ish in a decorative ceramic bottle.  When being moved, it hit the floor a little too hard, and now has a hairline crack running 3-4 inches.  What is the best move to save the whiskey?  Nothing seems to be leaking but Im worried the contents could be marginalized.

Looks like a good candidate for a lead test...then decide.

As FacePlant eluded to, the whiskey quite possibly shouldn’t be drank. A lot of those old decanters had issues with lead leaching into the whiskey over time. I might taste a sample for fun but wouldn’t plan on making my way through the whole bottle unles it was tested clear first, but that’s just me
