Any word on MSRP? I really loved the profile of the 6yr, and hope this won't be crazy high like the new Old Fitz BIB. I am hoping for under $30.

I'd guess $5-10 less than McKenna BIB, and based on the significant rebrand, expect a wider distribution.

Omg. If this is so, there truly is a bourbon God.

After the reasons they gave for ending the 6yr BIB I can’t see them adding a year of age without a significant price jump.

Also wouldn’t surprise me if distribution is limited or if this is a gift shop only release.

Hope I’m wrong on all accounts!

That’s my guess as well. Gift shop only and $50.

I dont see any any way this comes back as the best value in bourbon that HH6yrBIB was.

Ha! Just saw your post on the other thread. Your guess is entirely reasonable.

My guess is wider release $25

Let’s both hope you are right (or at least closer).

I'll take it as good news and hope the harbinger of a new trend toward age statements and BIBs generally.  As for MSRP I'm willing to pay more but not a lot more.

I hope kevinbrink & dad-proof are the ones with the inside track; but, I fear it's unlikely.   I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it being gift-shop-only and falling in around $50.    I guess we'll know before too long.

Heaven Hill was a very good source for a good number of reasonably priced, very good value, very high quality pours; but that situation has moderated down a good deal, in my estimation over the last few years.   Don't get me wrong.   They are aren't ripping anybody off, especially compared with some other distilleries (Beam!); but the price value quotient has come back toward the middle from the better end... again; in my opinion.

I’ll remain hopeful, but I ain’t gonna hold my breath.

Ooooh boy, I hope the part about the wider distribution is true.

In a thread on this very forum, on 10/10/2018 I wrote " If Heaven Hill 7yr BiB comes out for $45 next year, then complaining is justified in my book" regarding the end of the 6yr BiB. I was kind of joking, but might end up being right on the money. A 7 year BiB as a gift shop only release is pretty lame, but replacing the 6yr with a 7yr at double the price (or worse) is probably more insulting to the long time customers. Sadly, I would bet that a 7yr BiB Heaven Hill with decent promotion will be a fast seller, even at $45.

Tho OE7 BP is a different company, if it is in fact HH juice, BP & 7 yrs at $40, perhaps that could be a gauge. Maybe it will be $32-35.

I guess my view is the same as what seems to be the emerging consensus — I hope this is reasonable but who knows.

FWIW, I used to say I'd pay double for the six year BIB if it were distributed outside of KY. Even at $30, I could see myself buying this once in a blue moon. Any more than that and thanks but no thanks.

I just miss the HH 8 BIB that used to be my daily drinker, and was under $20........

Not familiar with a HH 8 yr BIB?  I remember an 8 yr 86 proof VROHH, though.  The 10 yr Very Rare Old HH was AWESOME whiskey.

This is just my guess, rationally the price should be close to EC Small Batch.  The average age of the NAS EC is around 7, and the proof is close too.

They have to price it less than HMcK BIB, but who knows what that means nowadays.

Gift shop only, then all bets are off.

They have released lots of different versions over the years. Strangely a lot of them have had inconsistent distributions across the country as well. I was a pretty loyal drinker of multiple of the different versions for a long time, until they largely disappeared from my area. Yes, the 10 yr VROHH was good stuff

Fabulous!  Thank you for this info.  I continue to be amazed by what I can learn here, from our membership.  What year(s) was that 8 yr available for you?

I was in Bardstown back in the sleepy old days, wandered into Toddy's and bought a bottle of the 10 yr old.  Went back the next and asked Guthrie how much of them he had in stock.  He replied " 'bout a case and a half" and I said "I'll take 'em all".

The last time I saw the 8 year BIB was probably almost 20 years ago? I believe that the VROHH10BIB was actually around a little bit more recently than that. I drank a lot of the 8/86 stuff too.

You’re more savvy than me, Squire.  My story on this beaut was that it was one of my faves, and learned that it was being discontinued.  Went to Bardstown for KBF with the intent of clearing out everything I could find.  Decided to not go the first day I arrived, but to go back early the next, only to hear they sold out everything they had the day before... :D  I think you’re talking about a time before that, but when you know it’s good, you know it’s good!
