For my birthday, the wife and I traveled to Bardstown to visit the Bar at Willett.  This is our first visit since my previous post concerning the Willett Bar.  Again, we had a great time.  Just as we had sat down and started placing our initial orders, I chose a 13 yr. WFE that was $40/ounce (1 ounce chosen).  My wife said "you can do better than that" and slipped me several hundred dollars.  So, for my second order, I did do better than that.  Pictures will follow, but let me say the food was great, as was the atmosphere (they were fairly crowded).  Our server was April, who had waited on us before.  She is an excellent server, and we highly recommend her if you visit there.  Ok, here are the pictures of my birthday gift:

Well done. I bet that B79 was fantastic.

As good as any bourbon I've ever had.

It is a neat place and next time you're in Bardstown, recommend you stop by.

Thanks.  No better way to spend it than at a bar in Bardstown!

Ya know...a large group of your bestest bourbon brothers and sisters will be in Bardstown in late April...Aaaannnnd, it would be really cool if there were someone who knows the terrain could maybe...set up a group meet-up at said place...ya know...sometime during their visit...

Pretty soft schedule of events, now...But...

2:00-5:00 PM on Friday April 24 appears to be good...  ????

Know anybody...?  ?

Hmmmm, not sure who that might be, but . . . let me see what I can do.  I know the capacity of the place is 40.  They are usually closed from 2:30-5:00, so this might be a good opportunity for them as well as for us.

That is funny.  Thankfully and blessedly this judge is now enjoying retirement rather than the bench.  I'll let you know what Willett says.

If you need any help setting it up I'll offer my rather meager services.

Happy belated birthday!  That pour is fantastic and I too treated myself to a pour of it this past weekend.  In regards to their times, only the kitchen is closed from 2:30 to 5:00pm....the bar is still pouring whiskey and mixing up cocktails while the kitchen resets for dinner service.

It is good, isn't it.  Glad you enjoyed it.  I am still trying to connect with the bar manager to see if we can arrange both food and drink for that afternoon.  If not, it may just be drinks only, unless we arrive a little bit early.

I know the bar manager, Andy, pretty well.  I don't mind helping out booking something if you want any assistance.

I'm having a little bit of trouble making contact with him (i.e. the bar manager).  Let me make one more try, and if no luck, may ask for your help.  Since we know the bar itself will be open all afternoon, the question is whether they would be willing to keep their food service going for a little longer than usual (assuming our guys will want to eat something).
