Is VOB still the gold standard for cheap value bourbon?

Those seem like good deal prices.  I had believed stuff was expensive in CA.  The store must have an angle to make money on different items.

I shop mainly at Hi Time wine in Costa Mesa.  Extremely good prices.  They are a little high on allocated bourbon, which is a shame because up until about 2 years ago they mostly sold even the allocated stuff at retail.  However a little while back they determined it didn't make any sense selling Weller and Blanton's at retail since morons would pay way more every day.  I don't even blame them really.... I blame the morons buying it at rip off prices.  Anyone paying $40 for WSR or $80 for OWA can do that they like... But IMO it's idiotic.

Timely thread, as VOB 90 popped up here locally for $13.99.  Had to get a few bottles to see what all they hype is about.......

I find the 90 proof to be very mediocre. The 100 proof is good for the price. The extra 10 proof makes a big difference with VOB.
