I have been building a stash for about a month and I am getting around 15 bottles total, some are unopened backup bottles for the few i have opened. How is yalls stash looking and how many months or years have you been building it?

My bourbon stash is about 65 unopened, 15 open along with a number of ryes, scotches and other brown stuff.

I'm at around 150 bottles.  I have multiples of favorites but a good number of different iterations.  That may sound like a lot but wait until some of the other members start responding.

I'm at around 45 bottles now, been drinking more since the madness of 2020 hit, and with a recent job loss haven't been able to re-stock as fast (finances)

i was between 100 and 150 before quarantine in March.  Now I'm probably around the 100 range.  Haven't taken inventory.  I know folks with many hundreds of bottles.

A lot of mine is boxed up at the moment, but I will guess in the low 200s.

@Sgtspitter101there already is a "show us your stash" thread probably buried a page or two down the General Discussion thread.   It's a fantastic way to spend an hour or so with a nice pour.

At roughly 175 unique open and ~75 unopened duplicates in the bunker. Also, 27 oak aging products spanning the past 1.5 years with 10 jar/stave concurrent experiments.

I drink between four and five ounces per night. I have enough set aside to last me four years without purchasing any more.

That doesn't mean I won't buy more. I just don't need to. You can do the math. I've already done it.

I recently sold 700+ bottles from my wine collection.   Lemme catch my breath before I figure out where I’m at with the brown liquor collection.

Shame on me for not being OCD enough to create and maintain a credible list of the bourbon/rye/whiskeys.  Just too simple to buy, stash in one of the cellars, and pop/pour when the mood strikes.

Then again, it’s like an Easter egg

hunt sometimes when I stumble upon a bottle or three that I forgot I had acquired...... ?

You are already aspiring to be like Harry. Well done.

Started getting beyond more than a bottle or three probably around 2010.  Started seriously accumulating a stash in 2013.  Probably somewhere north of 400 now.  Mostly bourbon, but plenty of ryes, some Scotch, Irish and a few other stragglers.  Maybe 330 different expressions, some multiples.  More than 100 open . . . maybe 120?

About 300 bottles. Mostly bourbon and scotch, and some tequila and mezcal thrown in for good measure.

I like to keep it lean and mean. Have about 10 unopened and 5 opened. That could fluctuate by a couple either way, but it's usually 1 in 1 out with some exceptions of adding special/extra bottles I like. But...I tend to drink what I buy relatively quickly, and that habit hasn't changed over the years.

I admittedly have a few bottles— but I’ve reached the breaking point where I’m sh*t out of space, so I’ve either got to put the brakes on buying or eliminate the bourbon to focus on Scotch. Not an easy task given the local feeding frenzy.

I think you go with getting rid of the bourbon... I’ll happily come help with such a task. Hahaha
