Probably not the correct location for this post . . . BUT, Here it is, nonetheless.

My Bardstown Bourbon Buddy, Phil T. (a poster on this forum) on his journey North was kind enough to go out of his way to stop near me for lunch at a local favorite ethnic restaurant (Hungarian Rhapsody).   He and his wife, Amy met up with me and my wife, Gayle for a relaxing interlude, friendly conversation (most of it not about whiskey!), and a 'Hungarian Lunch' before they were off to continue their journey. They'll see his son in Traverse City, then eventually go spend some sightseeing time in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.   It was particularly nice to see Phil, since I wasn't able to attend the Spring Gathering in Bardstown last April.   Phil left with a small-but-special bottle to pour later, 4-R SmBLE, 2016.   I trust it will be well-enjoyed.

Wonderful to see Phil as well as meet his sweet wifey.

It’ll be a fun evening at my American Legion Post tonight. Steak fry and Red Shirt Friday. 🫡 🇺🇸 😎

I made dinner at my parent's house tonight. Ribeye with a quail egg romulade, and veggies with a duck and white Bordeaux demi place. Of course there was bread as well.

The good news is that it’s Hot Dogs tonight for Independence Day…as it should be.  Better news is that I made Chicago style, and they are really good.  BEST NEWS, is that I learned just today, that a Portillo’s is coming here soon, and will be only a 15 minute drive from my house.  Livin’ large just East of the Big Chicken!!🤣🤣

I burned some steaks on the grill for the fam.   Had those with some grilled "little potatoes" slathered with butter, and some dill pickles.

Pours all around of whichever was preferred.    We played some Euchre afterward.   All enjoyed the afternoon/evening.

Happy Independence Day!!!
