HH 6 Green Label is gone. Deja vu all over again.  Liquor Barn shelves are bare.
(sorry if discussed already)

I think HH6 is the permanent permanent disappearing act.

It feels like it's been disappearing every year since I got into bourbon

HH is apparently also discontinuing the EW Green Label.

That is no loss......

Not a big surprise.  I've always wondered why they have SO many brands/varieties out there.  I get there are different market segments, and when you make that much you want to compete at all levels.  But how many 'sub $20' markers do they really need?

Do we know it's official, or is it something a store employee said.

Then there's the situation where stock goes through cycles of running out and being replaced.

I sure hope it's not history.

Paul.. i ran up to KY yesterday and it was noticeably absent at LB. I didnt pay much attention at the other stores but as I thought about it I hadnt seen any all day. My next stop had some but that was the last time i saw it. I asked at a number of places and it was a resounding yes its gone. Interestingly LB said that the 1.75s are discontinued and the 750’s will be allocated to once a month (so who knows... I’ll trust the old owners of  the other stores as opposed to the 20 something LB employee). It has the exact same feel as the BiB disappearance and it fees heaven hillish. I grabbed a case and 4 1.75s.

I’m not a buyer of this bottle, so if it does go away it won’t impact me.  But, potentially losing a 6 year age stated 90 proof bourbon at its price point is not something I would want to see.

It's just another step in HH's process of discontinuing the old super inexpensive brands so they drive customers to the higher priced ones.

Raising the price on an old stand by gets pushback. Introducing the same thing in a new package, or diverting that stock to existing higher priced brands, can be done with less ill will because all of the new blood doesn't know any better.

It's getting, or gotten to the point it seems - stores in KY and IN are basically the same for Bourbon selection.

(Distillery gift shops not included).

A couple weeks ago I did a whirlwind tour from Austin, TX and basically followed I10 into FL. Made several stops & called several more. Called 3 stores in New Orleans yesterday, since I'll be there this weekend & nothing seems to be any better than my local selections. I'm not liking these parallel universes. We are right there with ya!!! 😥

It’s true in my neck of the woods of kentucky.  I went to go get some for gifts at Christmas and thanks to a kind clerk at my LLS who tipped me off I was able to stock up.  Sad to see it go as it was my absolute favorite daily drinker.

I picked up a case at Party Source a few months ago to mule back, but the last few times I’ve checked their website it showed no stock. I was fearing this. Oddly, the HH 6 BiB was discontinued right after I bought a case from the same store.  I guess EW BiB or Dant for when I need to replenish. Or just forget about the less than $15 bottles and just stick to Turkey.

A bartender where i drink said that JTS Brown is done too.   And possibly Evan Williams Single Barrel but he said that was an early rumor.

As a member of the Bardstown Bourbon Society, I get occasional emails from Heaven Hill.  I looked up the latest one, and asked about this.

No more JTS Brown? 🤬

We'll see.

Everyone is going to get rid of the 90 - 100 proof daily drinkers and pray that we just pony up more money for the same juice in a new bottle.  I bought the last 3 bottles of HH BIB in E'town.  I guess I'm going to have to go grab all the JTS Brown BIB I can get my hands on.

Stopped at LB the last time I passed through Kentucky.  Noticed (after buying) that the JTS Brown wasn't the bonded variety.  Didn't even know they sold a non-bonded version.

The other day, I saw what looked at a distance to be HH 6 year BIB (white label).  Closer inspection revealed "quality house" 80 proof.

I did manage to leave with several JTS Brown BIB.
