Mini Barrel Batch #2 - Bajan Rum

Following the success of the blended bourbon that I just dumped last weekend, I immediately filled my 1L barrel back up with 3yr. Real McCoy.  I'm not going to be trying this one weekly, though.  Probably once a month just to see what kind of color/notes it picks up.  I have control samples ready and excited to see how much or little bourbon flavor it gets from the previous use.

Forgot to update, at Month 1 picking up some color gradually and plenty of oak. I’m excited.

Here is the final product, the color it picked up was divine.

 

Lots of oak on the front, vanilla in the middle, and black peppery finish.  Really cool experiment.
