1st day sampling, just enjoyed this by itself.  color seemed light, substantial peat but not strong like other brands, earthy undertone, whisky itself didn't seem mature/complex but there were lots of additional flavors not normally encountered in scotch, seemed to have more wood than I expected.  Robust, enjoyable.  Long lingering pleasant complex aftertaste.  Nice.

2nd day compared it side by side with Lagavulin 16 which comes in at exactly the same price point locally, $99.99.  The price difference for younger 11 shouldn't be deterrent as it is unique product and there's recent Lagavulin 12 which sells for twice this.

16 much darker color.  16 age showed itself, complexity seemed even beyond 16 years.  Good but not strong after.

11 much much more peat on the nose.  A little more peat in the glass.  As noted, complexity but not from age but from cask treatment which imparted subtle and interesting flavors.

For enjoyment, if just rating on their own merits, I'd rank them equally.  But since 11 - Offerman is a novelty, I certainly enjoyed this one more.  I'll end up slamming lot more of the 16 and carefully place 11 - Offerman to the back of pile as it might be the Offerman is a one off.

Had the Offerman Guinness Cask Finished last night, and really enjoyed it.  One of the stars on the table.

Both of the Offerman special edition 11 year old bottlings have been very good. As far as I know, these are one and done special editions, so once they’re gone they’re gone, so you might want to pick up another if you like it. Having said that, I fully expect Lagavulin to come out with new Offerman special editions over the next few years.

You are correct sir. One offs.  Very good.  Ongoing releases with Nick are planned.
