I'm hoping to see a lot of all new releases this year.

I don't know many yet, but so far I'm most excited for that Jack Daniels 12 year 107 proof coming this year.

What do you guys know of that we shouldn't miss out on???

If it's released in good quantity I'd also be excited about JD12. If it's a tiny release like the 10yr old then I'm less excited as we barely saw it in WA State.

Apart from that I don't see anything new that excites me. (Had to look at the Breaking Bourbon coming releases list to see what is expected). The only item of interest is a Crown Royal 29yr. Not usually a Canadian whiskey fan but that age has me intrigued.

I don't really get excited anymore because you can't find most it.  I'm still dumbfounded that I've never seen a bottle of Jack Daniel's 10 yr. Jeez.

LEs don't really excite me anymore because they don't show up in Pennsy and,  if seen in Jersey, get marked up.    What interests me these days are WTKS single barrels and well-aged MGP.

Agree with most of the other posters as it's hard to get excited about releases since I rarely see them or if I do, rarely anymore close to MSRP.  On rare occassions, I'll get offered a unique bottle at MSRP so I guess whatever surprise offering (if any) will be what I'm most excited for.   I used to get excited for new ECBP releases, however, it is hit or miss if this shows up anymore - I didn't even see C921 come out in my area.  My interest in new brands releasing MGP or other sourced juice has waned through the years.

However, if had to be specific, I guess I'm looking forward to the the new Remus release and new Bardstown disco release assuming they will be available. Though some of the hype this past year on their releases, I'm afraid this will either be unavailable in 2022 or marked up to a level I wouldn't be interested.

I'll still get the normal stuff that I can easily procure such as Wild Turkey (101 and Rarebreed), OF1910/1920, Maker's 101 and their LE series.  I've honestly been looking forward to various scotch releases as seems like I'm actually able to get some of the annual unique offerings in the scotch world at or near MSRP.

In ‘22 I am looking for a bottled in bond from Castle and Key as I think the timeline supports a 2022 release, of course that doesn’t mean they will do it, a lot has changed since they started or restarted depending on your perspective distilling.

Another intriguing release for me is the Jeptha Creek Bloody Butcher BIB which is finally old enough for me to consider. I am also looking forward to a possible Old Forrester cask strength and tasting Yellowstone. Both of those will be Distillery visits and a purchase will hinge on tasting impressions. I have heard many good things about sprits of French Lick and may pick up one of those if a tasting warrants it. Last but not least Chattanooga is doing some interesting things, nearly pulled the trigger last year and now that I have done a tasting room visit I am just waiting for an experiment that piques my interest as the standard issues were quite nice, especially the BIB.

I'm looking forward to the Jeptha Creed too.   The

A few years back, we took  a private tour and sampled some of the young rye, (straight out of the barrel), which was pretty damn good for a 2 year.   They just so happened to be filling barrels while we were there.  Fueled by the earlier samples, I asked if I could fill one.   They, happily, obliged.

I'm always pleased when I luck up upon an LE; but not worried if I don't; however...

I was really pi$$ed when the SS barrels quit coming through, last year. That's where most of my "upper class" pours come from and 2021 was a duh year.

At this point, in 2022. I'll be excited to find the normal stuff I buy for close to the same price as 2021. 😐

My selections will depend on what is in stock at the KY stores during the spring trip. I like BIBs as a class so I shall see what’s available this spring.

  • 2 weeks later...

Jack will have a BIB released this spring. My understanding it will be a regular item going forward so it should be fairly available.

looking forward to the next Woodford Batch Proof. Last year's will be tough to beat

For the OF lovers……..

The 117 Series 1910
Extra Old (375mL)

This release in The 117 Series is a curious exploration into the intensity of the proprietary heavily charred 1910 barrel. This liquid was allowed to rest for 18 months in this secondary barrel, extracting significantly more of the heavily charred influence. $45.00

Has the Jack BIB been announced? My SIL just brought one back from Mexico for me which is 1 liter curious to know details of a possible US release.

EHT BP Rye (won't ever see it)

Any of the SiB picks from New England Barrel Company... Have had a couple tastes of their offerings and they fit my flavor profile very well.

I received an email about this a while back. It’s also on their website as a limited edition item.  I wonder how it compares to the Jack Daniels Silver Select?  :P

BIB only guarantees min 4 years old though. I’d imagine that any random bottle of Jack is already that old. The 10+ year age stated bottles are more interesting in my opinion.

100 proof guarantee, too.  And, if one is intrigued by the whole distillation from a single season angle, there’s that, as well.
