FOTT stands for the group Friends Of The Trace.

Sadly, because of shoulder surgery and Covid, I haven’t been able to make it down to the distillery the last couple of years to get my bottle(s).  😢

Ah, the abbreviation makes sense now.

I mean….. if you need a ride… I have my CDL.  How many bottles we picking up?

😁

I have a couple bottles from  years ago, when they could be had for ~ $60.00.   With the exception of the 2nd release, I've found them to be a hot mess.  The 3rd release is particularly bad. That being said, a splash of Jr. in a glass of  ER 10yr is crazy good.  Not sure why,( or how), but it works.

Maybe the later releases are better, but I refuse to pay those obscene prices to find out. The taters can have it.  As long as JDSBBP is available at $69.00, I'm good.

In my area, sadly, JDSBBP is becoming quite scarce.  It's not a unicorn yet but I fear that it's on track to be the next Stagg Jr. given the praise it's getting in the YouTubeverse.

I hope that doesn't end up being the case.  I still think, (hope), that the taters keep turning up their noses up at it.

It's pretty easy to find in the Baltimore metro area and the LS where I get it has picked an excellent barrel. They even charge $5.00 less for it, than the standard JDSBBP.  They picked another barrel, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I think that I have 5-6 unopened bottles, which will last me for a very long time, as it's an occasional sipper for me.

That being said,  I'll probably snag a few more. 😉

Our store has been told the same thing regarding a Stagg Jr. pick completed LAST March. Major glass/bottle shortage. We’ve been told this Summer at the earliest. At which time the pick will likely be bottled under the new Stagg label.

Does anyone know if the name change is also coming with a new bottle design?

I've always said that it's good to stock up before the hoarders get them all..  😉

Let me ask you.  If someone on this forum posts pictures of several bottles in their bunker of say…a somewhat challenging bottle to find in some/many parts of the country, but posts multiple pictures of them purchasing more…Would that constitute “hoarding”?

I hope you got that my remark was tongue in cheek and directed mostly at myself and my tendency to buy more than I really need because of FORO(Fear Of Running Out).  To your question, I don't mind seeing posts from folks fortunate enough to score desirable whiskies and don't judge anyone for posting them.  I may get a little jealous, however, haha.  Now flippers... That's a different story...

i read into the comment as "stocking up" and "hoarding" are the same thing, which i agree with. Good for them as long as they are being bought and saved to drink, not re-sell. If I saw a shelf full of certain hard to find bottles that I knew I liked, I would certainly "hoard" or "stock up" on them myself for future drinking/sharing.

Just heard today that my local's Stagg Jr. pick is finally in. The glass issues are seeing some improvement.

I live in. SW. Florida.  Have not seen any new releases. Of Stagg. And the ones I have seen. Most stores were asking stupid high prices.  Liquor store owners in Florida are free to ask whatever they want.  The ABC. Chain. Has Stagg in their Vault Program. Best bet is to befriend a store that sells for reasonable prices. And buy from them on a consistent basis. Creggor
