Tonight I’m comparing the PC 2012 to the B2011.  The PC 2012 is heavily peated, wonderful, competes and is easier than Lagavulin 16.  Strong but inviting peat on the nose, smooth at first, developing a nice spice further in the mouth.  The Bruichladdich 2011 is their non-peated variety with more emphasis on spice. Both have explosive flavor and I will continue to explore this line.  I’ve previously tried the Port Charlotte 10, superior if I recall to the 2012.  My previous benchmark was the West Cork Glengarriff Peat Charred Cask.  Yes, it’s Irish vs scotch but at a significantly lower price point.  Isn’t America great having a distribution system that allows so many wonderful options?

Big fan of Bruichladdich! Sipping on some Classic Laddie right now.

Have had both the Islay Barley 2011 and the Port Charlotte 2012.

I too found the PC10 to be better than the PC 2012 but still enjoyed it very much. The wine cask in the PC10 really adds some depth to it.

As for the 2011 Bruichladdich, I remember that being a huge fruit bomb, loved it.
