Kjbarth
I figured NJ had a few distilleries. I think Applejack originated in NJ back in the 1700's. What I didn't know until recently is that there is a distillery 2 miles from my house, Jersey Spirits Distilling Co. in Fairfield NJ. They had a little thing going on there over the weekend with food trucks that my wife, 2 of my kids, and I attended. I had a 3 whiskey sampler, 1 rye, 2 bourbons, my wife and kids had cocktails, and we ate Mexican from Tio Eddie's food truck. I liked the 2 bourbons better than the rye. The rye was spicy but a little hot for its 87 proof and tasted a little young. The 2 bourbons were pretty good but young. I bought a bottle of one of the bourbons (the other was out of stock) and a bottle of the rye to carry out. A little pricey at $37 and $39 for the 375ml bottles but I'm supporting a local business.
