PhantomLamb
Our lottery hasn’t even opened yet but it’s a joke.

Knowing our distributor and their shenanigans, and what I’ve heard about a possible downturn in orders from off premise accounts, these might be holdovers from last year. Biba! Joe With everything more or less back open for business, I expect the higher end bars and restaurants to monopolize the purchasing of these (just like in the past). Some bottles will mysteriously come up for sale on the "secondary" (black) market - at a huge mark up. Retail stores get a small percentage of the already small number released in total. Then, let the games begin.
mal00768
Best of luck to everyone who plans on entering the lotteries, hunting, or dropping a bunch of cash. I’m personally out again this year.
mbroo5880i
If I happen upon an ORVW, Lot B, PVW15, I am all in. Same with a GTS, WLW, or THH. So, if I find an easy lottery option, I will try. I won't stand in line or drop a bunch of cash. I would pay a 10% premium over MSRP. I won't go hunting or ask every store I walk into.

You're more likely to find these bourbons at 10 time MSRP before 10% over MSRP. The last ETL I've seen in the wild was $350, which is just crazy. Fortunately there's a lot of good bourbon that has not been affected by the secondary market.

However, occasionally I run across a simple lottery where you enter and don't have to be present. Of course, me and 10,000 other bourbon lovers are usually entered for the 10 or so bottles available. Yet, no lines and no expectations is ok by me.
