I'll only have a day or so for non-business activities. Any suggestions on the best distilleries and/or stores to visit in hopes of maybe finding some rarer/distillery only bottles?

Thank you in advance!

Looks like a trip to Louisville is in my near future; care to share which stores or distilleries were best or worst for you?

Evan Williams Experience was pretty good... but, small.   Their "Speakeasy Tour" (if still available) offered some stellar pours!

Michters was surprisingly interesting tour.

The best of all to me was Brown Forman.

All of these are right in town.    Have FUN!    Call ahead ASAP to reserve space on a tour.   My recent experience around B'town was that dropping in and hoping is a poor strategy.   Good Luck!

Thanks.  When you say Brown Forman, is that the OF tour on Main Street?  Thanks.  Getting excited.

Not really bourbon, but if you like chocolate, you might want to stop by Art Eatables. A bit expensive, but they have some absolutely amazing bourbon and chocolate candies.

Even though the tour is rather simple since they are not production distilling, you must take time to visit the sacred and hallowed grounds of Stitzer Weller. It is a pretty dang cool place.

Prost!!  Phil

I didn't take any tours. I went to Buffalo Trace one morning and scored a Blanton's. I'm not a fan boy but I'm definitely a taker at retail.

Had to do a return trip and that time booked two of the You do Bourbon experiences at Heaven Hill. Definitely worth it. All of the bottlings there are distillery only juice (ie, the Larceny juice you bottle isn't one that will be sold in stores).  Then the Select Stock, if part of the experience, is only offered at the distillery. On the first morning, I scored a Larceny B523 being sold in the gift shop. On the second morning, they had a limited supply of Elijah Craig 18 year in the gift shop.
