PhantomLamb
Just got an email from Jim Beam pimping this. Next big thing, really? To me, it seems just like scotch made in America. Hasn't this already been done? Thoughts?
Jazz June
Well it recently became a regulated category, but yeah American distilleries have been delving into single malts for years.
PaulO
Price seems "steep" @ $65.99 for five years old and 94 proof.
Richnimrod
Count me in the "waiting for someone I know to spring for a bottle" camp. Not being much of a Scotch fan anyway (other than an occasional pour of LaFrog) I'll be fine if I never taste it. I have tasted more than a few offerings from the British Isles that I've enjoyed; but, very few that I felt the need to own a bottle of. The couple American malts I've had didn't move the needle for me.

The smaller guys producing American single malts charge in that ballpark and well outside of it. I’d try it but it’s gonna be from somebody else’s bottle.
