Sorry!  We were only on the west side of the state!   How about next time?

OK, then!    PM me next time you know you're going to be in the SE Michigan area.   Having a pour or two? If there's a way, I'm sure we can find it.

...Or, if you can manage to find your way to Bardstown the last weekend of next April, I'll have a few nice ones to share... not all of my stuph, of course... car just ain't that big!    I know it's a way bigger trip for you than it is for me (only a 6-hour drive for me); but, it can be so much FUN!

Headed south to return home to southern California, but had to stop in Berkeley for lunch at Top Dog, the best hot dog  restaurant in the world.  AND to meet up in person with Bay Area member Fosmith for a drink.  We had corresponded online over the last couple of years so it was great to meet up with him.  Super nice guy.  Had also hoped to meet up with Berkeley member Berto, but he was unable to.  We met at a great whiskey bar but timed it badly; we got to Berkeley on a Thursday only to see that the bar has Half-Price Whiskey Wednesday!  No worries, that just gives us an excuse to go back again.  It's only a 6-hour drive!

Awesome trip Matt!  And a great haul.  Thanks for sharing.  And the best part is, every time you have a pour from one of these bottles, it will be a souvenir of your trip.  That said, it was pleasure meeting you and your lovely wife.  A shame @Berto couldn't make it.  For those in (or visiting) the Bay Area, the bar/restaurant where we met is Beer Baron on College Ave. in Oakland.  In spite of the name, they have an excellent selection of bourbons (including many highly allocated items) at reasonable prices.  Half price Wednesday would be insane.   Definitely take an Uber then...

Cheers!

...Or just sleep on the street afterwards.  It's Berkeley, man!

Seriously, it was great to get together with you.  Next time @Berto must join for sure; maybe we need to do an "All-Bay-Area-Members meetup!"

Oops!  Forgot to mention we visited Peerless while in Louisville and pickup a bottle of bourbon finished in Absinthe barrels.

Got one as well, like it when I'm in a funky mood. I sure as heck would not try it before any other drinks in a line-up - that finish has a serious half-life!

We visited Log Still Distillery (Monk's Road and Rattle & Snap whiskeys) and were taking a picture outside when some random guy came over and offered to take a picture of both of us.  "Random guy" turned out to be the distillery's Controller!
