Kepler
06 EWSiB tonight while watching baseball. At only 86.6 proof it's the perfect midweek pour.

GeeTen
Last night I had the first pour of GW4G (Grandpa Weller's Four Grain) out of the Hibiki decanter in the fridge for summer - YUMMO! Edited May 29, 2024 by GeeTen
Anwalt
Tina Turner's "Better Be Good to Me" came up on the play list. I took it as a sign. So GTS '23.

Anwalt
ECBP for the day. More oak than I expected. Intense, good, took time for the ethanol to calm down. Can tell the difference with 12y, the latter being more complex. This one is hey diddle-diddle, right up the middle. Hard to go wrong with ECBP.
Anwalt
KC12 now. Need to try it against some of the KC9 SP's. The 12...seems so balanced. Sweet up front, with something nice on the end. I keep hearing tobacco and leather. It probably influences what I think I taste. So drinkable. 100 proof, lots of flavor, zero burn, just zero. $50 a bottle, works all day long. Probably $55 or so now. Easily worth it.
MyBrainOnWhiskey
Much to my surprise I am absolutely loving JDSBBP Rye. JD is normally not my thing at all, not even close. However, I am so happy I gave in to all the good reviews and tried it. It's absolutely spectacular!!! In the span of only a couple months I've accumulated 6 bottles from three different batches. Generally speaking, I find myself currently drinking a lot more rye whiskey compared to bourbon... although I still drink plenty of bourbon . I really don't understand why KC12 is so darn cheap compared to other 12 year offerings... but I'm definitely not complaining. Hopefully the folks at JB will keep the KC12 at affordable levels for the foreseeable future. I try to buy a couple bottles whenever it's in stock at any of my local shops.

I'm OK with the $60-$70 price tag for a 12 year bourbon, especially for the quality and flavor profile of KC12. Good stuff!

Richnimrod
I had a beer after finishing the lawn work, and it seemed to really hit the spot. Didn't have any more beer on hand though, so I poured a generous dram of PH Heavy Char, 120-pr., 10-year into a glencairn. Lovely! But, was plenty for my headbone. Got a little tipsy before I got very far into it, so I slowed down and made it last for over an hour. For whatever reason, I could barely keep my eyeballs open so I decided that was enough for the day.

I had a few + pours of WT101. A different bottle than the one I enamored with the other night. This one was just as sweet with a hint of mesquite. Stellar. This bottle is better than some $80 bottles that I have had but was only $25.

I've never, ever been disappointed with a pour of WT 101. Here's hoping that never changes!
Jazzhead
This is fantastic stuff. It's a Frankenstein's blend of Tumbling Dice (high rye MGP), 6-year cask strength Clyde May, Driftless Glen and Russell's Reserve Rye (6-year) . It's just about the best stuff on the bar and it's gone to the point I need to add something to it. But I don't want to monkey with it just yet - it's that good .
mbroo5880i
My two son's birthday's are 14 days apart so we took them to a nice higher end Italian restaurant tonight. They are both adults so we enjoyed a nice meal with cocktails and dessert. I had two double pours of KC neat. Solid pours in wine goblets. Home now and enjoy a couple of pours of WT101. Both are favorites and both are equally enjoyable. Watching James Taylor on PBS. JT is always a solid listen. WT101 is always a solid pour.
