You mean cicada isn't their secret ingredient?

Well.   I've finally made my decision.   Rather than seek out this dram for it's unique and highly-anticipated attributes, I'll await the actual infestation of Cicadas locally and see how much of their "pee" I can collect.   Not sure if it'll be adequate for a decent pour; but, I'm willing to risk the possible shortfall.

Malort is a local joke around Chicago where people drink it as a sort of right of passage. Some people actually develop a taste for it.

Those people ain't right.

The Malort is so bitter, probably can't taste anything else.

That’s a hard pass for me. Did some cursory research on edibility of cicadas for dogs, and they can carry all sorts of little nasties, like bacteria, funguses, the pee all themselves. No thanks.

All I can say is 🤢🤮. Those of you that tasted the bottle of Malört I brought to Bardstown a few years ago know what I mean.

I was brave enough to try it, not stupid enough to do it again.
