A couple of pours of Costco 1792 BIB.  This is an awesome bourbon for $24.  It compares very favorably with 1792 BIB for $40, if you can find it.  I will grab a bottle each and every time that I find one.

@fishnbowljoe I am watching a Hallmark movie.  I am pretending to not be paying attention but the lead actress is hot and one of my favorites.  What can I say?  Cheap Bastard is a Hallmark fan.

A buddy bought a bottle of the Costco/Barton BIB. He shared it with us at a recent bourbon/beer/cigar night. It was pretty good. The liter size at $24.99 might have even made it taste a little bit better. 😋

No Hallmark movie here. It was date day for me and my wife. We drove to a town about 80 miles away to attend a matinee performance of Clue. Great time. The theater company did an outstanding job. We stopped and ate on the way home. Kicking back now. I’ll probably have a pour of MM shortly. FWIW, the small theater actually had a pretty decent bar. 😎

Well, I was reaching for my open bottle of MM. In front of it was a 1984 375 ml Dant BIB with very little remaining in it. What the hey. 🤷🏻

I've had an interest in some of the bottled for Costco brands.  My issue is Costco is far from my house.  Many good grocery stores are close by.  And, I'm too cheap to cough up the money for a membership.  Some of those membership stores used to offer a free day or weekend to attract new members.

Off topic and if you are too far to go regularly it’s irrelevant. Costco membership is a steal IF you go regularly, we are there at least once a week. The membership cost is WELL more than reimbursed via our annual rebate not to mention the pricing we get on the majority of items for which we shop. Been a COSTCO member for many years, in fact it’s one of my criteria for anywhere we might reside, a reasonable commute to COSTCO.

I heartily second that. Indeed, here in Puerto Rico they MAKE the market. They have the best prices, the highest quality, it's a no brainer. This island would be much less liveable but for them.

For those into wine and possessed of Cheap Bastard tendencies: The Costco Wine Blog is excellent.

VOB 90 from the freezer is superb; especially with burgers & dogs on the grill...

BBC Discovery #11. Very good. I love the Discs, I think this is one of the better ones.

Currently waiting on that to get here. We just got up to #9 last week in the bourbon wasteland...

Anyone over 60 that hasn't secretly enjoyed a Hallmark thang with the Missus, is a liar... 😜

PM me what you are looking for. I've "slowed down" on acquisitions.

But. That ain't saying much since I was perhaps a bit excessive to begin with.

Things still come to me. Either things I want or things that can be swapped for what I & others want. I have plenty to drink, happy to mule for others & whatnot. Also, with that friend of mine over towards Seaside, it's just a matter of time before we fly through your neck of the woods again (of Faster Horses visits, I can get things to him). We really enjoyed meeting both of you, it was good clean fun. And the cocktails were good too! A repeat is called for.

If you are ever in Puerto Rico....

RR13.

For a year I've thought "It's OK".

And today I love it. WTF?  Not getting the WT funk at the end, not that I mind it, just not there. But where before I got lots of burn and little flavor....now it's reversed, mostly. Not drinking very hot at all, letting me feel it.

Huh.

Very confusing.

Ahh how the palate can change over time. Not to mention the tasting of many different iterations over time. Yes, I can be philosophical at times. 🤣 “Make mine a double!” 🥃🥃

I stopped at the Legion tonight for a pour and cigars with @JerseyDon. We were on the newly redone deck with pours of MM under the new MM umbrella Don and I put up. 😎

Had a couple pours of EH Taylor up at the Dog House bar couple blocks over earlier (YUM!!!) ...now enjoying a little MM 46 at the house. I've been smitten by that one of late...pretty much keeping one on hand along with regular MM since it's easily had especially at Woodman's. Not seeing the MM101 around much these days and Weller SR is nowhere to be found around here. Indeed, if I want anything BT I have to go out for it...ah well.

Third night in a row where regular old KC9yr is just slamming it out of the park.

Other long time favorites are just meh. I love how the palate can just take you on a journey not of your choosing sometimes.

wife is the anal retentive and does the tv calendar every Sunday AM while I do the breakfast.  I never argue when she sticks in Hallmark Movie Mysteries - one can play LOTS of iPad games while them shows are on EVEN WHILE sipping on bourbon.  Sometimes, I’m even awake when the show ends.  ALSO, I can watch the same show a couple months later and STILL not know whodunnit. Win win!

On thread - - What bourbon I drinking?  4R BS 59.4%, SiB, OESQ from Brent Elliott.  Bottled May 2022 10 yr 5 mo.

It’ll be gone in a few days.  I’ll really miss it; I love OESQ.
