Found this barrel a couple months ago, and it’s one of my favorite pours in the rotation. I love a good Baker's too. But there has to be a story behind that rocks glass? It looks quite vintage. bayouredd
Yaaaaay Friday!!! Kudos to Nancy! I had pretty much given up on having a pour with a cigar. The JMCB shone through just fine. I even got a tobacco note that I was not getting w/o the smoke. I did however, leave the gazebo (my own) as the Florida heat beat me back inside after the Davidoff was done. I love Fridays...
smokinjoe
I haven’t seen a 1792 Sweet Wheat in ages. Couldn’t resist picking it up as my week’s end treat. . After a few sips I dumped the neat pour in the glass into my Yeti rocks glass with a big cube and ventured out into the front porch Adirondack chair for some sittin’ and contemplatin’ time…Like Bayouredds locale, it’s hot here, too. So, I suppose I’ll be doin’ some sweatin’ too!

HBD That Willett is a private barrel my group did as a result of winning it in a charity auction. We did that back in 2019. Part of the winning bid was the ability to do a custom label that Willett would take care of getting approved by the TTB. We could have done anything including creating our own brand but we wanted to honor Willett for making this barrel available so we recreated one of their really old labels from back in the days of the bourbon glut. One of our members was in Japan at one of those bars that's famous for their collection of extra aged bourbons and had a photo of a bottle with a label like this. (Japan is widely credited with helping the bourbon industry during the glut by buying up all of the extra aged bourbon that America did not want at the time.) If you look close you will see our name and some other info but otherwise it's the same as the historic label.

fishnbowljoe
BIB evening on the deck at the Legion. We had pours of Three Floyd’s Bubblegum Head, Costco’s Barton, and my HH BIB blend. All good.
Kepler
Having a pour from a Madeira-finished HW American Prairie bourbon store pick. Great first pour to warm up the palate.
bayouredd
Finally having a nice pour that was sitting in the freezer while drinking a beer & grilling my ass off. The beer was a Parish Brewery Strawberry Cane Break. (very summerish wheat brew) The pour even shows a couple of frost covered fingerprints from sitting in the freezer for over an hour. As Frank would say - Yummo... Gracie wondering why she smells no real meat from the smoker... Fixed up My Honey's weekly veggies...

Kepler
I was going to crack open a new scotch bottle tonight, but after warming up my palate with my new Chattnooga BiB, it's tasting so great, that I sense a Chattanooga night! In addition to the Chatt BiB Fall '19 bottle, also for my consideration are: Cask 111 (standard recipe) Single barrel BP store pick (std recipe) Wheated SiB B005 recipe Roasted SiB SB055 recipe 99 Rye Think I'll go with short pours of the 111 and standard store pick for now.
