Cinnamon, marshmallow and Cracker Jacks. Just delicious! I'll still take WT101 and KC9 myself. But OGD114 is up there for sure. Locally, I can get OGD114 for $23. WT101 is $19.99 and KC9 is $29.99. Those are all good values. I'd probably throw in OF100 and ET BiB as equals as well.
fishnbowljoe
It was a long hot day yesterday. The high was supposedly 94°. We did about 45 minutes of work outside late in the morning. Nothing outlandish, and we took a water break about halfway through. I came in dripping wet. I stayed in the rest of the day. Looked through some more pictures and just putzed around. It’s now 12:45 AM and it’s still 80° out. It’s supposed to be a couple of degrees warmer today. I’m dreading it if I have to go out. Just in case I’m prepping with a couple of pours of Blanton’s.

And both of those could edge out OGD114 depending on how my palate is feeling that night.
Anwalt
Yesterday, in order with a friend: Michters 10y B '24, Old Fitz 10y, Jacob's Well 15y. Loved every single one. Preferred them in exactly reverse order. The JW was clearly the winner - flavor explosion from the first touch to the lonnnnng finish (roated cocoa beans & a little tobacco for me)...these Beam 15 to 17 year bottles just keep doing it for me. Old Fitz edged out M10 B, a bit more flavor & viscosity. This may be my favorite wheater. The M10B was great - the most flavor in such a low proof, a perfect sipper. Then had a nice JBSBBP rye with cigars.
Anwalt
MMCA. I like it. Not sure if I "$150 like it". It's very good. I need to get a MMCS of a similar proof here to PR and see how different they are.
bayouredd
Firing up the grill to cook My Gal some chicken breasts. She'll use it in her salads and sides the week long. I'm having white acre peas and rice w/ sausage, but 1st... An 11yr SP of Short Barrel SiB. It drinks waaay lower than it's 119pf. Very deserty though...

mbroo5880i
Jefferson's Ocean Voyage 33 Single Barrel Store Pick. It is stellar. Best pour in a long time.
Double C's
due to the heat yesterday, I had to go with some AA from the freezer bottle over some ice while grilling up some stuffed zucchini for dinner.
Grady330
Yesterday was OGD114, 1792 BiB, love that stuff, Doc Swinson. All superb.
Anwalt
This BBC Origin 110 proof SP is really, really good. Market District in Carmel, IN. About $100. Worth it my (unlike, perhaps, some local Cheap Bastards') book.
PaulO
I polished off the last pour or regular KC 9. Next up MM 46.
Kepler
I felt like a really nice pour after getting home from work. No reason really; I just realize I don't go to my 'good stuff' as often as I could. Four Roses '17 SmB LE in my glass. It's quite nice.

I enjoyed the fruit & oak balance of the 4RSmBLE so much, I decided to grab my open bottle of 4R Al Young. Unfortunately the cork broke on me ... likely because the bottle has been sitting around untouched for several months, maybe even a year (...see above...sigh ... I definitely need to drink from my big gun bottles more often). I didn't want to deal with the inevitable decanting process tonight so I wrapped the Al Young top tight with parafilm for now and I'll deal with that cork situation tomorrow. Undeterred, my Four Roses thirst was un-quenched, so I reached for an OBSF PS gold neck band. The F recipes have never been among my favorites, but tonight this one is really pretty damn good. Anwalt
Continue the BBC trend after that really nice SiB yesterday? Or keep Thursday from stealing Fryeday's thunder? A choice was made here.
smokinjoe
Old Forester 1897 BIB this afternoon. Thick and with a beautiful candied apple note and a hint of honey to it over my palate. 1897 is my favorite expression from OF’s Whiskey Row lineup.

I'd like to hear more about your thoughts on it, since you said it wasn't quite $150 good. Do you know if they are going to or have already put out a MMCA for 2024? Unfortunately the '23 was sold out everywhere around me before I could land one. Cheers! N. Edited August 29, 2024 by WhiskeyBlender

I personally do not believe that OGD114 is going away, but I do intend to buy a few bottles to make sure I don't get caught with my pants down. Good whiskey is required, pants are optional . MyBrainOnWhiskey
I've been shopping for cars the past few weeks, a stressful experience for sure. Car dealerships in Florida conduct business like they are criminals; I have no idea how they actually sell cars. Anyhow, I'm nearing the end of the process. WTRB definitely helps ease my tension. So freakin' good, but I am admittedly a WT fan in general. Cheers!
