meadeweber
Thought I'd try my JDSBBP on ice. I figured that because it is so concentrated and hot it would do well. Unfortunately, it did not. It really changed the flavor in a bad way. First couple sips were fine. Then it really went down hill. Bookers is still the only bourbon that is consistently good with ice for me.

Car dealerships in Florida conduct business like they are criminals; I have no idea how they actually sell cars. Anyhow, I'm nearing the end of the process. WTRB definitely helps ease my tension. So freakin' good, but I am admittedly a WT fan in general. Cheers! Oh man, I feel your pain. I unexpectedly had to shop for a car at the start of the summer. My previous car blew a head gasket at 113,800 miles. I had babied that car, did all the maintenance, kept in a garage. After a lot of nonsense locally, I decided to shop in OH and KY - much better prices and selection. I finally bought a car in OH. Even though I spent a night in Holliday Inn to be there when the dealer opened - well worth it in the end. I know some people won't buy a used car from FL for fear of flood or hurricane damage concealed. If one of your neighboring states will make you a better deal, I say go for it.

Sometimes it's needed to tame the ethanol.

Skinsfan1311
Vacation whiskey is the best and nothing says vacation like WT101 in the plastic bottle. That's WTRB rye in the flask. Mrs. Skinsfan and I are celebrating 37 years of marriage with a short road trip to Luray Va. Because we're not barbarians, we stopped by Dinosaur Land, and Cooter's Place*, to add a little culture to the trip. *Dukes of Hazzard museum
smokinjoe
EHT Small Batch to continue the ride into the long Labor Day Weekend. Great presentation with the bottle dressing and accompanying tube. Certainly enhances my enjoyment of the moment, but the whiskey doesn’t live up to such visual beauty. It’s good! But, it seems like pretty standard BT expression….Regardless, I still am enjoying the visuals and a very fine whiskey, tonight.

If it would have been a Holiday Inn EXPRESS, your decision making ability could have improved tremendously!!! I think the carfax thing works well here. Hard to sneak by such damage unrecorded and I don't buy used vehicles without the seller providing. Edited August 30, 2024 by bayouredd
MyBrainOnWhiskey
It was another day of car shopping with no results to show. I missed out on a 2019 Honda Pilot thinking I had time to look at a few more cars before making a final decision. After looking at a few that didn't pan out I called to pull the trigger on the Pilot only to find it had just sold . Back to square one. I'm hoping the local dealers will get some new, used stock as people trade-in their gently used cars to buy new ones over the Labor Day weekend. I find out next week if that strategy pays any dividends. In the meantime, I decided to take a break from car stuff to pour a glass of Barrell Bourbon New Year 2024. It's an excellent blend IMO and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The bottle should be empty by end of year, and I look forward to the next release in 2025. Cheers!

mbroo5880i
Long, long day of pressure washing the house. Extremely hot, but I properly hydrated with Pedalyte. It's not just for kids. Started with OGD 114 x 2. Going to follow up with WTRB x 1. Gotta stay hydrated for tomorrow which will bring deck power washing in the hope that I can stain the deck over the holiday weekend.

In fact, I don't like it unless its been proofed down, either by ice or water.

I had to add water AND a few chunks of ice to tone it down so it wasn’t so hot. As an aside here, this same store did a ps OFSB 90 proof a couple of years ago. It was great. For some reason, it lingered at the liquor store for a while. I ended up buying almost a case of it over the course of two or three months. It drank a little warmer than 90 proof to me. It reminded me of the OF BIB’s from days gone by. Yummy stuff.

I found a 2017 Toyota Yaris sedan with only 45,000 miles, super clean, like new condition. It has the six speed AT. It gets 40mpg. My first Japanese car ever (assembled in Mexico).

I remember from when I was a high schooler and into street rods, everybody in our car club had a nickname for car makes. Being a Chevy guy at the time, it was FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily.
Grady330
last night was ECBP C922, almost empty with no back up, FR SBS, Doc Swinson. Don't know what today will bring, but Happy Labor Day weekend to all. Enjoy!!!!

I didn’t have a car and relied on my buddies for rides.
CUfan99
Government Motors (GM) is my favorite pejorative for a car manufacturer. No greater insult IMO. Lots of good on the bourbon front. My local has an RR Camp Nelson warehouse F pick that is amazing. Also, New Riff has started distributing to SC so I have a couple SiBs of it. I dig New Riff!
