Justifiably so. I always went after one. Some of the guys went after the thick concentrations and bagged more than one per shot. As was mentioned here...seems unsporting. I have not shot much in the last two years, so I has about a 35% hit rate - still got well over 1,000 birds, lotta shooting. Some of the winds & distances...some serious challenges. It took me a while to get the head on, rapidly ascending angle, I actually led those too much for the better part of a day. I figured it out...eventually.

 

I did have one pleasing Matrix shot, bent over backwards and got one in spite terrible depth perception. I really liked me for a few minutes there.

 

23-25 hits on a box of shells...that's some bovine feces right there.

Wait, a minute.  What?  Sorry about the HH7.  It is regularly available in Indy for $38.99.  I will say that I believe it is significantly different and better than the old HH6 BIB.

HH7 is $49.95 here in Ohio. I recently found some online for $32.95 and the shipping didn't kill me. The last bottles of HHBIB 6 I bought were $11.99. Dang, I sure miss those days. I still have 2 left.

I've wondered that too, with LUX under MGP ownership how has ALL their sourcing not transitioned to MGP exclusively?

On topic, I enjoyed some more JEP Bib bourbon. I really like that distillery, I think they have a very tasty house profile emerging and while 50.00 for a bib is highish, the flavor as compared to other new/small distillery bibs (excluding Chattanooga...love them!!) of the house distilled JEP is delicious, and while not winning any complexity awards at 4 yrs, the primary flavor notes are unique enough to separate them from those others and also tasty enough (to my palate) to keep me coming back to it.

Not sure, you are a lot closer than I. Since it opened in 2009, that would be a push for it to be their own. MGP makes more sense...

I absolutely love my RC 12CS. It's great mgp.  The 12CS and 16yr are the only Rebecca Creek I've had.  It's worth mentioning that there is a 12yr non-CS available but I haven't had it.

Last night was a delicious 4R OESV 9yr and a few mos. from back in 2016 that Bruce may have had a hand in selecting.  Though I enjoy exploring the ever expanding choices we have amongst distilleries and line extensions, there are constants in my whiskeyverse, 4R, WT , JD, Dickle and OGD are always represented and open regardless of whatever else may come and go.

JBDC mixed into a couple of cherry limeades while winterizing the pool and pulling the cover on it.  It is had to believe it is late September.  Time never moved fast enough when I was young.  Now, it won’t slow down enough.

Just got back from Lake Tahoe,  where I've never been before.   What a crazy spectacle of the Good Lord showin' off! 

 

The evenings were chilly,  and perfect for bourbon on the deck.  A vanilla-rich Buffalo Trace hit the spot.

Vacation pours are great. I think a nice pour with my Brother tops any vacation pour I’ve ever had. (I’ve have had some vacation pours  with my brother, so double good.

For a couple of reasons, I have not been able to pressure wash our Mexican Tile back patio for a couple of years.  Did that today, and also got the back yard ready for aeration and overseed of our fescue back yard.  I’m not sure any chore brings more bang for the buck pleasure than pressure washing a cruddy area.  It’s like creating magic!  It’s work, but the results are so immediate and great, it actually makes the work fun!  So, hanging out on the front patio, fixin’ to listen to Braves post game on the radio with a Monte Epic robusto and a Woodford over ice.
