Clueby
The 2 on the left came home with me from a work trip to Kansas. When I got home the other 2 bottles were here from a delivery. Mrs. Clueby was already into the BT before I got home!

LW25
Did not intend on doing any whiskey shopping today, mainly because I kinda blew my budget last week when I found a Bombergers and Shenks out of the blue. Went to get a haircut today and walked out and remembered there was a store right behind it that I haven't been to in a few months. Wandered in just to see what cool stuff they might have in their glass case. They usually put stuff like High West Cask Collection, Bookers, ECBP, Larceny BP, stuff like that in the case, but every once in a blue moon they'll put something really good in there. Today was one of those days. Couple of Shenks, a MMCA, new Russell's Barrel Pick, and this bad boy.

Last year's release was the best thing Maker's had ever released imho.

If 3 out of the chum hit, I'm bringing one (1) 2023 and one (1) 2024 for a SBS tasting friday night in Bardstown next April 15. To be followed by a sip of Weller Centennial 10yr for my "besties" on Saturday nite. Be there, aloha! Edited October 4, 2024 by GeeTen

mbroo5880i
Took the day off to help my son to put a second coat of stain on his deck and prepare for their baby shower this weekend. My wife and I were tired but we needed to stop at the grocery store to pick up several baking items as my wife is providing the desserts for the baby shower. It is going to be a rather large one. I get to pick up the puppies to puppy sit. Anyway, I happened to see a couple of Rebel 10 Year Single Barrel sitting on the shelf for $61.99. I thought why not? So, I pick up one and left one for the next fella or lady. It was barreled in 2012 so it may have been bottled in 2022? Who knows? Clueby
Went to a HH tasting/dinner/lottery tonight. The tasting was a couple cocktails..one with EW100, one with EC rye...and HH7BIB, HMcK10, EC Toasted, Larceny BP, and ECBP store pick. The lottery had HH20, Old Fitz 19 (I missed the chance at that by millimeters on the spinny wheel), OF 10, LBP, Bernheim BP, as well as the ECBP pick. Toasted, HMcK10, and HH7BIB were up for grabs for everyone. We picked up a couple LBP and HMCK just because I guess. I took the "old school' HH6/90 with us to let folks try it. Food was really good.but I had to be careful with my new dietary restrictions. They helped me out with all the sauces on the side.

All the other JD SiB, Barrel Proofs, and store pick barrel proofs are sitting on shelves at MSRP around me and I just can't imagine the Coy Hill are that much better. Am I missing something? Well, the question should be, is any whiskey worth spending five or six hours in line? Any sane person would answer no! I've never claimed to be sane, and it's fun meeting other folks who are just a bit off center. Is it worth sitting in a cold wet swamp for hours waiting to shoot a bird? Not for me, but lots of folks enjoy it and I'm happy for them. We've spent the last 25 years doing "normal" for the kids, so now for us weird is looking good. And, to answer your original question, hell yes it was worth it!

Sorry, but the Weller Centennial 10yr is only a Frankfort bottle so no guarantee that it's Stitzel-Weller distillate (that would be a Louisville bottle, IIRC). Oh well, first world problems???
