We were pretty good keeping the wallet closed this year, but today was Mainstreet Liquors, in Nashville,  end of year drop.

if the prices were at or close to msrp, then my wallet would have been flying open as well. Nice pick ups.

Out and about today getting more stuff for my wife to make more cookies. I stopped and bought these for a friend. The funny thing is, the MM with glasses was on sale at Binny’s for $19.99. With Binny’s card of course. 😇

Just a few to get ready for Xmas.   Already opened the JYPSI and may have to pick up another one.  (this one may not last til Xmas). Haven’t tried the Redwood yet, hope it’s as good.   Cheers!

Excited by how quickly MO got this and also by how reasonably priced it was.

Picked OESK because I’m showing some new found restraint by not buying all 3-4 variants.

saw that these hit my area yesterday and was only interested in this recipe based on the advertised tasting notes. Had to open it right away to see if it was worth getting a backup bottle. Never tried this recipe by itself, and I am liking it based on the first pour.

While perusing the aisles of a local today, I noticed the MMCS at $39.  Decent price in these parts.  Then I saw a what one might call a “Slamdunk” bottle of it in line.  🤨 Well, since the heavy wax did clear the neck and did get to the shoulders of the bottle, I guess it counts.  So, I’ll just not go with a Jordan Slamdunk, but be happy with this Bird Slamdunk…😆

I joined what appears to be a growing trend and also opted for this recipe.  Tomorrow night it will be uncorked.  Working on what's left of a HMK 10 tonight as a temporary cold remedy.

Oh, and for @steven s, my local monger has two of them at $40.99 apiece.  I think the other is OBSV

If you don’t mind my asking, how much for the MM 101 in your area? Pricing is weird here in northern Illinois. Binny’s has it for $36.99, but another store here has had it on sale practically the whole year for $29.99. 🤔

Paid $34.99, which is about the cheapest i've seen it in my area recently (used to be $29.99 at this store, before the label/packaging redesign). At other stores near me I've seen it anywhere from $36.99 to $41.99.

Local grocery chain had their pre-Christmas 25% off sale this week.  Cheap Bastard opted to visit a store across town that usually has a better selection than my local store.  I wasn't disappointed.  I was actually pleasantly surprised not only by a solid selection but a few things priced lower than they are when available at my local store.

RR SiB $47

WTRB $39

OE7 BS $37

KC12 $43

KC BouRye $34

FR SiB $34

Hendricks Gin $30

The gin is for my two sons.  Both love gin and I asked if they wanted anything since dad was buying.  I grabbed each a bottle.

Cheap Bastard was seen smiling as he walked out of the store.

That's a great price!  FRSiB OBSV ranges between $38 to $50 in my area with most retailers close to $45.  I would love to find OESK or OSBK at 100 proof for that price.

Nice pickup.  👍  btw I wouldn't call OESK a growing trend... been one of the most popular for awhile.  Always been my fave 4R recipe.   I'm looking forward to these when they show up in my neck of the woods.

Same with me.  OESK, OBSK, then OBSV.  I was fortunate to have bought all the recipes as PS CS store picks.  In fact, the store would do a semi-annual pick of each with the label identifying which was the spring pick and which was the fall pick.  They did this for several years with the price @$39.99 for a long time.  They then increased to $44.99, then $49.99 and the grumbling began.  They then disappeared for about 5 years only to return for double the price.

They had a 10 recipe release in Fall 2013 that was hosted by Jim Rutledge.  He poured and described each recipe.  Several SB.com members attended.

One of their picks from that era won the SF World Spirits Competition as the Best Bourbon in 2014.  Yep, it was only $50.

RR SiB $47.00???

That made me smile too!

Not really a purchase, but the wife and I tied in a Christmas trivia game last night and this was the prize.  The host decided not to do a tiebreaker question and Im ok with that for various reasons.

Anyway, the official statement is that we both won! 😀

It ranges between $35-$40 most places in Indy, but two retailers have it for $30.  It is on the shelf every day at some places and rarely seen at others.
