Bombergers is probably my favorite bourbon. Very very scarce around here unless you pay $299.

We still have Shenks and BB here in PR at $115 and and $125 with taxes, respectively. We've gotten an oddly high amount of "beyond the regular" Michters here. Word is the 2024 Shenks & BB are on there way. I enjoy both.

I "caved' and sprung for a private pick at my main monger of EC Toasted Barrel at 127.4-proof and N-CF.   I've heard and/or read good things (mostly) about the 'toasty' ones.   And, although I wasn't on the panel that chose this barrel, I know most of folx that were and I assume it's at least pretty good.    I'll let y'all know in due course.

Finally something you could export back to the mainland...

Black Friday shopping completed and back home in bed by 7am.

i was 3rd in line and had my pick of what i wanted. Hadnt seen a RHF in ages. Let my friend have the 4RSmBLE.  Half of the beer is @0895's.

Obree brought lots from the Netherlands on his visit to PR. Lotta W12 in that back row. Let the games begin!

PS: One of the W12's leaked. Or someone had a tipple? 🤣

Purchased a fresh bottle of OGD BIB yesterday. Opened it last evening and had a couple of pours. Always hits the spot.

L/O/F on the car today.  It is too cold to lay on the floor myself  A few doors down is a LS so, killed  some time while waiting and walked out with these.

#4 on the Path Not Taken and both were below MSRP.

JJB Barrel pick.

I love John J, (one of my two decanter-worthy whiskeys..the other being OGD BiB).

I've read and heard that the picks are amazing.

I guess I'll find out😉

It was delivered while I was away for deer season.  Mrs Skinsfan does the Christmas decorating while I'm gone and Ralphie's Aunt made the demented Easter Bunny outfit....

saw that these hit my area yesterday and was only interested in this recipe based on the advertised tasting notes. Had to open it right away to see if it was worth getting a backup bottle. Never tried this recipe by itself, and I am liking it based on the first pour.

Nice pickup.  I like the idea of these because IMHO 100 proof is better proof than barrel proof for most of the 4R recipes.

Here's my end of the year "haul".  This is actually from a couple of recent trips to the store and a package I just received with my wins from an auction.

The Stagg and El Tesoro (I’m starting to get into tequila a little) were from the store and the rest came from the auction.

The ironic thing is you'll never guess which bottle cost me the most and which one was the least.  Well if you guessed the WT 70th was the most then gold star for you.  Yeah I way overpaid on that one due to the auction fees and shipping.   I've been trying to score one of those for weeks and just got sick of looking.  The Peerless DO was about MSRP all in (fees and shipping) if I could actually find it in VA.

The Stagg was tied for the cheapest of the bunch because the El Tesoro was on sale.  Got the Stagg for 60 bucks...it was luck though...was trolling my local stores for the WT 70th and ran into the Stagg as part of one of the random drops.  First one of these I have bought since 2015 when it still had "jr" as part of the label.

Is that middle WT8/101 an import or the new domestic SKU?

We picked this up at Cool Springs today. I don't recall seeing a Larceny single barrel before.  I'm looking forward to opening it.

It's the Japanese export. I really wanted one just to do a side by side with the 70th and the new domestic 8 year when it comes out.  I'm a whore for all things Wild Turkey...lol

I decided a backup bottle was needed, so since I had to run our for a few last minute cookie ingredients I stopped back into the LS to grab a backup as the 2 stores are across the street from each other. And for those wondering, they are oatmeal raisin cookies.

Did you cross into Illinois to get the Bardstown BCBS, or are they finally distroing those single-barrel brews beyond IL and KY!?!?

It was in MO.  All the top variants other than Prop, Rare, and the other one-offs that you can only get at the tap room, have been in MO since at least 2015 when I first got into BCBS.

ran to the store for a few items and my eyes locked onto the clearance tags in the liquor section. Ended up getting a backup bottle of 1910, 2 KC9, and a JB devil's cut(this is a gift for a coworker).

Pretty much not a Beam fan. I've tried and tried and tried but they just aren't in my wheelhouse. So, that being said, while at the local to see if the new FRSBs had appeared,  I spied this. For $26 it came home with me. 🙃

Prost!!  Phil

Even if you don't care for it, the glasses are pretty cool...
