What bourbon goes together??

Val

Recommended Posts

Hi there! I'm organizing a bourbon auction to support KY Kids Belong, an organization that helps find homes for foster children. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to group these bottles into several bunches. These are from my own collection and I'm not quite sure what's what! Thank you!

  • Val changed the title to What bourbon goes together??

Hello Val,

I would put them together like this:

Elijah Craig and Henry McKenna

Wilderness Trail, New Riff and Bardstown

the two Restoration together

Buffalo Trace and Old Taylor

the two Michters and Old Forester

the two Maker's Mark together

Booker's by itself (or put with another group, probably Elijah Craig and Henry McKenna)

Blanton's by itself (or put with Buffalo Trace and Old Taylor)

I'm happy to explain my reasoning how I grouped them.

Good luck with the auction.

Also, welcome to SB.com!

Is it a live auction?  If so, where?

Check w/ the mods and see if it is ok to post a link as selling here is not.

PaulO has done a good thing with his suggestions.     (I might have put the Booker's with the Old Forester 1910.)

The only comment I'd make is a question: How many 'groupings' were you hoping to have?

If you were thinking about bigger groupings and fewer of 'em, I'd offer an idea or two.   If you were thinking about pairs or three-bottle groups PaulO has you covered.

Good Luck with your auction.   It sounds like a very worthwhile endeavor.
