Old Grand Dad 114 Lot 6 - Wooden Box Set with Rocks glasses

My father passed away recently and we found an old wooden box gift set of Old Grand Dad 114 with 2 rock glasses in the back of a cupboard.  My dad had not drank for years, and we are guessing this set was a gift, from some time in the early 1980's.  It is in great condition, the paper seal on the bottle is intact, but has obviously aged. The bottle says this is Lot 6.  Just wondering what this set might be worth.

We don't do valuations here as they can lead to the inference of selling which is illegal between individuals. You best bet is to look at an auction site like Sotheby's.

Do a google search for 'bourbon auctions' or similar and you'll get multiple hits.

I for one would love a chance to sample one of my current favorites from a time long past.    I see the neck band claims 114 to be barrel proof.   Hmmmm.

I'm enjoying a OGD 114 now and I think it's worth every penny of the $30 it cost. Had to supply my own glass but....

That's very interesting.  I suspect it is old enough to be from before Beam owned the brand.

I'd be concerned about the low fill level and if that has affected the contents.  I hope it wasn't stored on its' side any length of time.

It could be ok, but a bit of a gamble for someone to buy in an auction.
