Richnimrod
I'll join my friends in wishing all the SB.com visitors a safe, happy and grateful day. Please take a moment or two and remember all that we as a nation of liberties, equality and freedom share. It's not guaranteed, ya' know, and wasn't given to us. It's been won by many that have come long before and protected by many since. I say: 'Raise a glass (of WT101?) and give thanks!' That's what I and my family intend to do... along with eating ourselves silly, I imagine.

HoustonNit
Happy Thanksgiving. It’s this lost American holiday that makes think of bourbon and this place.
PaulO
Eating a plate of turkey and dressing leftovers after everything has been cleaned up and put away - the best.
fishnbowljoe
For various reasons, we were missing 8 people from our family Thanksgiving get together. We still had 13 folks there though, and everyone still brought enough food for 20+ people.

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner. I sent this to all my friends and posted in SB.com. My sister knew it was a hoax immediately. She knows how meticulous I am with family dinners. I add an extra hour of cook time because I constantly open the oven door to check on the turkey, ham, chicken, or prime rib. The green beans can be bad, the mash potatoes lumpy, the gravy cold, but the entree needs to be perfect. Otherwise, I am going to pull out frozen pizzas or grill hot dogs.

I wondered about that photo. It was all black and burnt looking. I'm glad it was a joke. I too am meticulous with the food prep. USDA has guide lines for temp and time per pound. I put a seasoning rub on the bird, cook in a roasting pan with a lid, check with a meat thermometer when I think it's getting close to done. What I end up with looks and tastes great.
