Dave1954
I am trying to get information on the Weller bottle in the attached photo. It was unopened but had a cracked cap so I have corked it. The price tag on the bottle says it was sold for $12.75.
PaulO
Distilled in Louisville, so it is from the 1990s or earlier. If there is no UPC (bar code) it could be even older. Too bad about the cracked cap.
VWIndy
Look on the bottom of the bottle for the year that the bottle was made ( “77”).

It was thicker and oilier than today's distillate. It had more of a butterscotch profile than today's version. Very enjoyable. However, there are many bourbons today that I enjoy more. Obviously, since the screw cap was replaced with a cork, it has no market value. It is a great option for a pour with family and friends to enjoy a taste of a prior iteration of a lower tier bourbon.
chasking
Ah, that's the WSR I remember from 20+ years ago! Back when it was easy to find on liquor store shelves. And that's probably as good or better than the current stuff that's the subject of the feeding frenzies.
