So, you are about an hour behind central Indiana. Party on Garth. Party on Wayne.

Kepler
I've been on a Four Roses kick the past week. I started with the new red label 100 proof OESO and it was very enjoyable. Now I have a 10.5 year 105.2 proof OESF store pick from 2015. It's very syrupy on the palate and spicy/minty on the finish. EDIT: oops, almost forgot ... and Hail to the Cult! Wedelstaedt
Sipping on a delightful WTKS PS. This is one of those barrels that makes a person want drain the bottle. So good. Cheers

Well, I did find a A124 at 119 proof and a 1792 Full Proof at 125. I'm trying to acquire the "barrelly" taste of the A124. I also restocked my Bulleit Bourbon which, seemingly. is very close to the "watery" taste of my BT. Not as watery as BT, but close. Still, I will restock them all, as needed. So to summarize, I have the following Bourbons active: 1) Buffalo Trace (Std) 2) Woodford Reserve (std) 3) Woodford Reserve (Double Oaked) 4) ECBP A124 (119 pf) 5) 1792 Full Proof (125pf) 6) Maker's Mark (Std) 7) And I'll throw in a Bulleit Rye. Anticipated Purchases for 2025: 1) ECBP (B524 or better); 2) Knob Creek (anything greater than 9 yr aged). 3) Perhaps, a Four Roses or a WT101. We'll see.
Skinsfan1311
The "Bourbon Bowl" at our friends house was a blast! The game sucked, (but we hit for $500.00 on a block pool) We tried a lot of whiskey. I I kinda/sorta ran the tasting...I left him a couple good bottles, and sent me home with these.
Richnimrod
Had several pours yesterday ( maybe one or two too many?) from my now-low-fill-bottle of Lux Row Dbl. Brl. (That is a truly delicious whiskey!), in a vain attempt to dampen my disappointment with the Big Game. LIX? HA! Shoulda been named; SUX!
fosmith
On the nose, it reminds me a bit of a RR SiB. On the palate, flavors are muted. There's a sweet, but herbal/spicy profile with a rather drying finish. Interesting but, not entirely enjoyable. I wouldn't buy this again...

ebo
The guy I work for/with is a bourbon enthusiast, like the rest of us. He has been telling me about the JD Triple Mash for a while. I'm not a huge JD fan.... other than the High proof SBBP offerings (which are outstanding, IMO) so I have just haven't bothered. So............ I went to his house to help him install some cabinets after work last week. He asked if I wanted to try the JD Triple. Sure, why not. Ummm...... it's sweet (to me) and comes in at 100proof. It is definitely different/interesting. Enough so that I picked up a bottle. I'm sipping on it now. Not bad at all. Not complex or earth shattering by any means, but definitely enjoyable.

A while back, one of the guys in our bourbon group brought a sample to share at one of our get togethers. I too liked it well enough to buy a bottle. Agree it’s sweet, and not very complex. IIRC, it didn’t seem to drink like it was 100 proof.
fosmith
BT Plumpjack Wine and Spirits pick. Delicious. Nose suggests "Benchmark". The palate, though, is loaded with stone fruits and is quite full and delightful. Plumpjack, with two stores in San Francisco, and the winery of the same name, is partly owned by our beloved governor, Gavin Newsom. They do some great picks but, I rarely buy from them as their locations are not convenient to me and, having bottles shipped by them is expensive.
fishnbowljoe
I’m having a couple of pours of ER again tonight for a couple of reasons. Aside from my love of ER, I received a gift tonight from a friend. Today was the first day of the current 10 week session of the special needs/autism bowling program that I coach/help with at my local bowling alley. A fellow coach, and bowler I bowled against years ago, gifted me an eagle figurine. He knows that I was in the Army, and that I’m patriotic, and that I also like eagles and other patriotic items. A side note here, I also knew his brother. He was a member of my American Legion Post, and was active in The Sons Of The American Legion. Sadly, my friend lost both his mother and brother in the last year. He was going through some of his mothers things recently when he spotted the eagle figurine. Rather than donating the figurine somewhere, he thought of me and figured I’d like to have it. He figured right. This man went through a helluva lot over the past year, yet he thought of me. I need not say more about this man. There is a reason the bowlers love him so much. I’m proud to call him my friend.

I just created a thread over in the "Industry News" section that explains a lot of what Wild Turkey/Russell's Reserve has planned in the near future. Go check it out ... Lots of interesting news if you are a fan of WT... And in his Mash and Drum interview, Bruce Russell said "If you like the price point of the 70th [Anniversary], you're gonna REALLY like the price point of the new 8 year old" that he said is coming out this year. For myself I hope it is not so good and so cheap that I will regret stocking up on the 70th when I did, but for everyone else--especially those who didn't get their hands on a 70th--I hope it is.
