Sipping on a pour of JD SBBP Rye (128.8 proof). This stuff is really good. Might be the best Rye I've ever had... not that I've had that many. 😉

I had a couple of very healthy pours of ORVW 10 107 last night. I received a text from @JerseyDon around 11:30. Don’s sister had been fighting cancer for a little over a year. Sadly, she passed away last night. Please raise a glass and say a prayer for Don and his family.  🙏 🥃

I have a pour of Calumet 16 and will raise my glass to Don’s sister.  May he and his family find Peace.

Bookers Reserves. Again. That bottle has dropped quickly.

Bart, write on the board 100x "Beam does well with age. Beam does well with age."

Godspeed to Don's sister. And our most heartfelt condolences and prayers for Don and those left behind.

Remember when MM cut its ABV down to 42% and everyone got bent out of shape and they quickly changed it back to 45%? I bought one of those 42% bottles years ago and found it in the back of the bunker just the other day. It's a novelty for sure, but not worth the space at this point, so its being consumed quite quickly...

Since I started my evening with Calumet 16, I decided to continue the oak evening with some EC18.  It has been a long time since I’ve visited this bottle but it is fitting with a fire in the fireplace !

It was very interesting to tast the DDoak ‘24 against the DDoak from ‘16. The ‘24 is really good, lots of chocolate, but the ‘16 was easier to drink with the same notes just not so in your face. The regular WR is a Lincoln Henderson batch 16, and is crazy good.

Has anyone tried Nashville Barrel Small Batch ?

I have! Enjoyed it so much I immediately bought another bottle because it didn't last long.

getting ready to throw some filet mignon on the grill for dinner with the family, so having a nice pour while we wait.

If only the laws of math didn't apply and 42%+42% would equal 84%.  😜

Standard WR is ok now but it was stellar back in the day.

Cool.  What’s the story behind the distillery and whiskey?

Me neither.  But, the more I drink, the smarter I get.  😮

Yes I do remember.  Any idea how many bottles they released of that stuff before they reversed course? I do not know myself.  It didn't take long at all for them to reverse it.

Not sure, but they were stacked like 8 feet high in my local Binnys at the time, probably the same everywhere

It was an interesting situation for sure.  Kudos to you for opening that bottle.  Personally, it would be a tough bottle to crack open for me.  I'm not a collector nor a hoarder, but that bottle seems like it would almost be better closed than it would be a drinker. But eventually I guess my curiosity would make me want to open it and taste it, so I definitely understand.   How does it taste?  ... like diluted regular MM I assume?

Lest we not forget what happened to Knob Creek in 2009. 🤔
