What Bourbon Are You Drinking Winter 2024/25?

Last night I had a pour from my '17 VW Lot B bottle that I opened last Christmas.  man, was it singing last night.  Lot B gets crapped on sometimes because of its low proof, but it is a very refined bourbon with incredible flavors balanced in almost ideal harmony.  Don't underestimate it like I do sometimes.

Another hitter from K&L.  I get a lot of banana bread notes in the regular JDSBBP but this store pick has almost zero banana bread notes and lots of dark, roasted aromas and flavors.  And the color is much deeper.  Even though it's 'only' 127.2 proof, it reminds me a bit of the hazmat Coy Hill bottle that I had.

A bit of WTRB last night, a house favorite, then some of the Yellowstone toasted from the Holiday trilogy pack they put out (std, rum finish, toasted in 375s). I enjoy the rum finished but last night I returned to the toasted, it was never bad but it never was satisfying either. I love that there was that 375 kit to try em. I had several pours from the toasted across the months and always with the same, "meh" result, lest night I decided the last 1/3 would join an infinity bottle.

I'm still trying to wrap up the day at the office with a little JB7. Nothing complicated or expensive, just easy to throw back.

I’m with you there, Graves.  It’s a solid drinking whiskey.  A regular pour for me. 👍🏻

The House of Beam never disappoints in the value category.  Good stuff.

Back when passed for a "practicing" Catholic, I annually gave up raw liver every single day in Lent.  My Dad always swore that was what kept him vital throughout his adult life.   ...And... he lived well into his thirties.  (Kidding!)
