What Bourbon Are You Drinking Winter 2024/25?

I took "Dry January" to an extreme. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Yesterday I went to Memphis' best stocked bourbon bar to pay back a favor. Haven't had a drink since Dec 18th.  With all the Pappy's and BTACs stareing at me (plus many other goodies) I pulled the trigger..."I'll have one of those Red Weller's". For my buds the correct call. Best drink I've had in a long time. I'm not sure if I would have had the palette to take on a heavy weight but it sure was great to join you all again!

I enjoyed a pour of MM101 & a pour of my older Baker's 7(one last pour remains) last night.

I've seen other members have Weller squat btls and wondered if they reuse it for today's liquids or they just multiply in the bunker. I don't have any of those magic btls.

 

I am not as long in the tooth with bourbon as some but I've never seen one in the wild.

 

As for what I am drinking when I head out to the local steakhouse, Tanqueray Martini with 3 olives stuffed with blue cheese, slightly dusted. I know it is not bourbon but I don't make cocktails, just buy them and drink them.

The elixir in the embossed wheat Weller bottle is original.  I have 3 liter bottles left of the old Weller 12.  BTW, the older W12 is much better than the new stuff:}

Thanks. Was not trying to be offensive if i came across that way, I just like that old btl better than the new ones and I will take your word that the liquid is better than today's version.  "The Good Ol Days"

 

 

I reuse btls for blends or sharing but I am too lazy to remove the original label BUT will put a label of some sort on it to identify what is in it.

But dumping the contents of the newer paper-labeled MM101 into those beautiful earlier embossed bottles is encouraged

I have had both but it has been a bit. 

I can not recall which I prefer as I did not do a sbs. I would guess most would go w/ WBS. I do not recall much hype over B&L.

I can say I like them both but that is like saying I have not met a bourbon I don't like. There are some I WON'T buy again but MOST make it to the drain through my liver and kidneys.
