Skinsfan1311
Nothing, dammit! I had some oral surgery on both sides of my mouth, and I can't drink alcohol right now. I'm hoping that my beloved Washington Redskins/Commanders/whatevers pull off another upset on Saturday and I just might have a teensy drop to celebrate

(But, absolutely NOT about Saturday!) I'm not done with the damned dentist yet either. One more appointment (I hope) late this month. I don't necessarily completely abstain like I should, though. I will take a small mouthful of some high-proof Bourbon and swish it for 10-minutes in my mouth. I don't actually swallow it though. After my entire mouth is properly numbed, I spit it out. Sort of a waste, I realize; but, gives me enough comfort to make me ignore that facet of the procedure. Good Luck . . . but, not to your 'Skins. Sorry....
bayouredd
I will not call it 'smooth'; mostly because it isn't a good descriptor for this one and I don't want to be hung, even in effigy. What I will say is that it is a 'guilty pleasure' pour, meaning that you don't realize that you have, pretty much finished the pour and proceed to pour another, over and over again without realizing. Sorry, but I like this one...

smokinjoe
I picked up a Knob Creek Gift set over the Holidays, and really wanted to open it, but reached into the bar came out with a KC 25th Anniversary. It’s been open awhile, and I figured there might be some deterioration. Nope, it’s very good, and well beyond expectations. I’m not sure I liked this bottle better when I drank the first half! Sweet wood and Goetze’s Caramel Creams in the background, are hittin’ me good right now. When I get Goetze’s in a bourbon…It’s like crack… Edited January 17 by smokinjoe
markandrex
I dropped the wife at Louisville airport this morning and hit a few shops while I was in the area. I didn’t buy anything but enjoyed the hunt. I grabbed some wings on my way back home and really lit up my palate (nu-killer, should have been a hint). Now that I can feel my tongue again, some JBDC in the glass. Edited January 17 by markandrex

Anwalt
So I live in Old San Juan. Which for 4 days per year has an insane festival called "Sanse". Far too many people and far, far too much noise for my delicate sensibilities. People come from all over the island as well as from the States. That leaves the countryside gloriously empty and even quieter than usual. Depicted: The countryside, as improved by an early Michter's 10y bourbon. Contentment.

From what I see online, at a glance, one can tell the newer bottles have a metal cap. My understanding is whiskey went with the purchase of the brand. Given it's BIB, label will indicate when DSP 12 or DSP 113 gets switched over. It would be great if the new owners kept the original ET recipe. Consider with a little more age, that goes or went into brands that sell for $$$.
Jazzhead
Spent last night sipping side by side a1792 BIB (a single barrel store pick) and WTKS. Having also been dipping into an excellent bottle of Calumet Farms 8 year small batch lately. The bottom line is that, for me right now, the best bourbon in America is coming from Bartons. When it comes to classic old school bourbon, heavy on the leather and tobacco notes rather than the fruity, coppery stuff, Barton is killing it these days. Richnimrod
I pulled out an 'old' (2013?) bottle of Baker's this afternoon. It was nearly full. (Not any more...Heeeee-He.) It's been a very long time since I had a pour of Baker's. This is a Bourbon that has little in common (taste-wise) with the rest of Jim Beam's line-up. It has a very rich mouthfeel, and quite a different profile than Knob Creek; and vastly different from Jim Beam white label. It's not that close to Booker's either, which has always seemed to have a pretty sweet profile to me. Anyway, I had several pours and enjoyed savoring them all afternoon and into the evening.

(With no small amount of help from my sad-looking Lions, especially Mr. Goof . . . uh, Goff.) That aside, their skill and timing may carry yer 'Skins all the way. Time, as always, will tell. As for the Deeeetroit Lions, they are done for the season, and they may well be done for good at this point. They stand to lose a good many of the players, and coaches, that got 'em to where they wound up over the last few years. Won't be the same team, and may lose enough skill as well as the intangible stuph to fall pretty far next year. In any case Congratulations to yer 'Skins and to you, Skinsfan1311! ...And, Good Luck!
