NDN98
I said goodbye to this one tonight. While I enjoyed the bottle, I honestly didn’t find it any better than most of the Russell‘s Reserve Private Select’s that I’ve had. This is one I probably will not buy again, considering the price tag compared to the private barrels.

So it seems you’d be content with saving the money and going with a few bottles of the select. I came to the same conclusion with Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked. I could buy no less than 2 store pick of the double oaked and still have money left over

It was really quite flavorful, more than I had recalled. When it was released, it was the focus of a somewhat hokey marketing effort, thus the "aged in Stitzel-Weller Barrels" label.
VWIndy
If I recall correctly, this was older barrels of Stitzler weller juice that Seagrams bought to mix in their Seagrams seven back in the 80’s. It was “found” in a warehouse that Jefferson’s bought and they marketed very carefully to not cross any legal lines. It was great sourced juice and gave a jump start to Jefferson’s early on. Enjoy and Cheers

Enjoy and Cheers True, that story sounds familiar; seems like I've read or heard that somewhere. With 20/20 hindsight now, it's amazing to think how much stellar whiskey must have been lost as blends into Seagram's Seven.

I'm not so sure I agree with you, but I do respect your decision

What used to be a $55-60 bottle is now a $70-80 bottle in my area.
Clueby
I thoroughly enjoyed every pour of this. It's the one Beam product I consider "elegant".

Kepler
I'm not very big fan of either the regular WRDO or 1910. I can't imagine liking the Double Double Oak. I did recently purchase the OF gift pack of 375 mL bottles so I'll be giving 1910 another go eventually to see if it can change my mind.
Kepler
Two more for the bin. The HW is a bourbon finished in Madeira casks. it was okay. I've already bought a replacement bottle for the New Riff 6 yr Malted rye because I really liked it. I can't decide if I like this one or the similar Chattanooga 99 malted rye more. They are both very good.
