Got a hankerin’ today for a good Pilsner.  Not sure there are many better to me than a Pilsner Urquell.   It’s my I know there’s more Winter still a comin’, but dang I know Spring is within reach beer.  My daffodils are coming up, and some are blooming.  This beer fits wonderfully.  😊

Certainly not St Paddy’s day, and not even March.  But a 4:00 70 and Sunny Friday got me a hankerin’ for a Guinness!

@smokinjoe...I'll continue the Stout theme, but by accident.

I thought I has grabbed an ESB, from the same brewer...the caps are identical and I didn't realize that I grabbed this one until after I opened it..😄

Saw a bottle of this on a shelf yesterday, and had to pick it up.  Pretty sure I’ve never had a beer from India before.  It’s nice, while sitting out front in the Sun listening to Braves and Yanks on the radio.

Working my way through more bunker stouts before it warms up too much around here.

This one is out of York, PA, from one of my favorite craft breweries

(Liquid Hero).

They only do a few darker beers, but they do them very well, with this BA stout being no exception.

Green Man Porter.  Delicious.  Perfect balance. And silky smooth mouthfeel.  This is solidly my second favorite Porter after Deschutes Black Butte Porter.

Some breweries would release a bock beer around this time of year.

I just happened to notice Yuengling Bock landed in stores.  I had never seen it before, didn't even know there was such a thing.

It's a tasty beer.  Imagine their traditional lager, with the malt characteristics amped up a bit.  👍

Enjoying a nice IPA in the kitchen while running the house solo this week. Trying to forget about my double bogey to finish my round. Reluctantly a third grader is finishing her homework next to me.

An absolute stunner of a beer. Drowned Lands from NY. Heavy for sure. And I probably don’t want two. But for this current enjoyment it’s dynamite!

Another one from my favorite local brewery.

It's an "Uber Pilsner", their words,  not mine😉

It weighs in at 7%, so one is enough for me!

After taking a break from beer for the most part since the holidays I'm now working on clearing out the fridge from the holiday beers. Being on vacation this past week broke the seal and I had quite a few Asahi Drys so now I can continue the momentum. Currently drinking my second to last Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. Still tastes great!

Back at home after a nice stroll up the mountain with the dog. She’s fresh out of rattlesnake training so confidence is high!

7.7% lager from Oregon’s Wayfinder. It’s excellent. So glad the Oregon brew pipeline to LA continues to pump!

While the yearly Spring job of scalping the dormant Bermuda grass is one I dread each year, this time it was not as dirty, gritty and dreadful as most, because some recent rains got rid of a lot of the pollen, and made the thin grass clippings less fly away and nose and throat invasive.  😫. So finished up and I’m

no worse for wear, but definitely a beer is in order!  Sweetwater Tropical High Hazy IPA is cutting through what crud did get through!🤣

I always look forward to this release.

It's a bitch to find around here, at least "reasonably" priced.  The few stores that do carry it, want $50.00+ for a 4-pack, or $11.99 for individual bottles.

I had a $50.00 gift card for my favorite LS, so I took the 30 minute drive and picked these up for $39.99 per 4-pack.

We have arguably one of the most sought after (by serious beer enthusiasts) craft breweries here in town.  While I don’t really join the hype train for it, I do find their beer to be excellent.  The yearly release of their barrel aged coffee stout is something I look forward to each spring.

This year’s version is no exception to their high standards.

Delicious!

Spent the afternoon at a wet, windy Torrey Pines. Long, into the wind with a ton of rough and bunkers. I think it was fun! 🤣Asked Tony Gwynn for some help at the turn.

Every time I decide to drink one of these, I expect that I’ll hate it.  And, every time I am proven wrong. The pineapple thing scares me, going in, but it’s very subtle, bordering on imperceptible.  Perhaps, it just adds a little sweetness to balance out the tartness?  Regardless, it plays well after a hot outdoor chore, like cutting the grass today.

Sweetwater obviously knows what they’re doing!  This reminded me of a OMG (orange mango guava) IPA I had a couple weeks ago at Pa’ia Fish Market. It was dynamite.
