MM818
I don’t name em, I just drink em. But what do you expect from PDX? Gigantic definitely has similar distinguishable notes across most of their ales. It’s typically an auto buy for me because I enjoy their taproom. And I can usually summon characters to have a good time.
0895
Good hot day for some local sour beer. I know it’s not for everyone, and I used to hate it too, but here I am.

I love those stubbies, so picked up some while doing some shopping at the Publix for dinner tonight. Enjoying one now, as I finish up some paperwork. I wanted a lighter beer for a party last night and picked up a sixer in stubby bottles too
smokinjoe
I came across a cool article about the city of Cincinnati looking to expand the tourism potential of its maze of beer tunnels under the city. I had never even heard of such a thing as a beer tunnels under. I love old stuff like this. https://www.ohiotraveler.com/cincinnatis-old-brewery-tunnels/

I lived in Cincinnati for 22 years and did not know about these. I know about the abandoned subway tunnels but these are much cooler.
rzelinka
I’m in Alaska this week and was able to try my first Alaskan Beer. It’s their white offering. Not too shabby. Anyone else tried Alaskan Beer?

When the release them, they are usually on Saturdays. If you like these styles of beer, you may wish to check it out.

My favorite is their Alaska Amber. I also remember enjoying the White ale, probably my second favorite. I happen to have a sampler 12 pack from them in my fridge, but the White is not included in this sampler. I recall not being very impressed with the Kolsch (the one with the Orca whale on the label). Overall I enjoy their whole lineup though.

The white is solid (wheat ale), And some of the IPA’s. But Amber is always in our regular rotation here. Lucky to have it distributed locally. We actually went through a lot of trouble hauling beer glasses home in our carry-ons from our trip to AK years ago. They are slightly faded after 13 years, but still going strong! @rzelinka If you get up to Fairbanks, I highly recommend a visit to Silver Gulch Brewing.

I really miss the old labels, especially for the Amber. Thumbs down on the new packaging. On my trip to Alaska, I snagged a fridge magnet (which I do for any place I visit) and a Christmas ornament, which is like a miniature 6-pack of the Alaskan Amber Ale (I also really miss the glass bottles ... these days I only get cans in Texas now). As Christmas ornaments go, I'm usually all about traditional Christmas themes (not alcohol related for sure!) ... but I have to admit the Alaskan Amber ornament has become one of my favorites. Attaching a stock photo because my own ornament is stored away with the Christmas decorations. Edited 2 hours ago by Kepler
