It's a bit pricey, but I stocked up when it was heavily discounted on sale. Don’t you just love the “heavily discounted” sales? I know I sure do. Alas, a rare situation anymore. Might be changing though, down the road Cheers

markandrex
WTMK-Triumph on a FRyeday evening. We had a fish sticks and tater-tot dinner for Lent, I was flashing back to St. Joseph’s cafeteria of my youth.

Not sure whether they're memorable for the 'goodness' of those 'meatless' Friday meals though. Maybe just the predictability and traditions....
kcgumbohead
Stopped by Leipers Fork distillery on the way up to Bardstown and picked up a bottle of their rye. The TN whiskey and bourbon were very good as well but the rye is only available seasonally and I am a rye hound so the others will have to wait

Mattk
A hefty pour off rittenhouse this evening before the Easter bunny arrives and I start a ham dinner for the extended family. I'm certainly feeling like it is going to be followed by another very shortly.
kcgumbohead
Tonight’s NFL draft night pour is a Woodinville CS rye that is nearing its end. This one takes water/ice really well, at CS it’s hot and hides a good amount of flavor and layering, cut that proof a bit and it’s a mighty fine pour. Thankfully I sorted that out early on and got to really enjoy this bottle. It’s working beautifully tonight.
Mattk
The nas gift set was 4 bucks cheaper then the standalone bottle. Despite the warnings on the glasses advising hand washing these will definitely be going through the dishwasher.

MSB
I was going to join in on the Fryeday dram with you SBer's with a pour of Michter's barrel strength rye but I ended up working late and wanted to have dinner at the steakhouse, so martini it is. There will be another Fryeday and that bottle is not going anywhere soon. (I should post the bottle in what did you buy thread, but this will have to do) Cheers all!

Skinsfan, would you tell me more about your btl? Never seen or heard of it. Who is Prav Saraff? Is this a MGP rye? Just saw that the btl stated distilled at Huber's Farm. My bad. Do they do bourbon as well? Edited Saturday at 03:23 AM by MSB To elaborate what sorta info I am looking for.

Prav owns one of the premier stores in the country. He has a heck of a nice selection of barrel picks. Also because dc liquor stores can buy off secondary legally, he has one of the most impressive shelves anywhere, but you will pay the price for anything of note. Believe it is true though, there is a store with just about any unicorn you could want just sitting there.
Kepler
@MSB, FWIW, my favorite local chain in Texas (Spec's) carries 7 or 8 different expressions of Starlight whiskey, including some Spec's store picks. I've seen some positive feedback on local social media for some of the Starlights (which I take with a heavy grain of salt personally) ... but I haven't tried any. I would try out a bottle myself, but I already have plenty of good MGP in the bunker. Here is a link to the Starlight site in case you are interested in researching them: https://starlightdistillery.com/

I was surprised at the prices but after reading your reply, it makes sense why some of those prices were so shocking. Thank you both, well all 3 of you actually, for your feedback on the store, distiller( or bottler) and whiskey.
