After a series of stunningly beautiful days, it’s our turn for a rainy day Sunday.  No matter, it will wash some of this pollen away, and I’ll just peer out from the open garage and contentedly watch it rain with a Fogerty Cocktail.  🍸

I made myself yet another 'Perseverance' (Thanx for that suggestion as well the recipe tanstaafl2!).   Still working to use up that bottle of Dubonnet.   Initially, I wasn't such a fan of this cocktail; but it has grown on me.   I moderate the Dubonnet a bit, add a couple extra dashes of Regan's, and its 'berry-forward' nature came into better balance for my taste buddies.    It was nice "reward" for a pretty hard day of volunteer stewardship.

My wife is bringing back a small bottle of truffle amaro from italy next week.  I can find almost nothing about what to do with it.  Wish me luck.

Warm sunny day here in the PNW so I made one of these on a big cube for some deck sitting in the sun.

Steakhouse Manhattan (heavy bourbon, chunk ice, light stir) after a day of yard work.  I doubt Howard himself could have done it any better.

I missed World cocktail day, so I'm a little late to the party 😎

Old Fashioned...no orange..so I used a lemon peel instead.

It's still purty damn good!

Decided to kick off the grilling season this afternoon.  Threw together what I'll call the All-the-Fruit-in-the-Crisper Spritzer.  Orange, lime, lemon and pomegranate juices with a little sugar, couple of ounces bourbon/rye,  top with seltzer.  Color coordinated with the Weber.  And tasted good with chicken merguez sausage that's been in the freezer since Xmas.

MGP rye Old Fashioned at home while watching some "rivalry weekend" baseball (Astros vs Rangers).  This Indiana rye is from Smoke Wagon BiB rye that I bought 2 years ago during a momentary lapse of reason (its not bad but at $60 was way too expensive for what it is).  No harm/no foul ... it's MGP rye so is very versatile and will be consumed one way or another, but mostly in cocktails.
