Kepler
My first 'heavily peated' empty. This was as good as advertised. And I have to admit that I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. This bottle was responsible for me not being afraid to purchase additional heavily peated expressions. Great bottle.
jvd99
Cracked the Oban 15 CS, it's kinda disappointing. I had higher hopes on this one. Maybe it'll get better after opening, hoping so at least I like the regular Oban 14 better for half the price.

I saw a video review of that one that gave it a lukewarm review so I have steered clear of it. Your feedback seems to reinforce that. Hopefully some air time will improve it for you. Different finish or supposedly the same Oban but CS?
rzelinka
This past week, I have tried more than a few scotches. I have concluded my palette just isn’t ready for them. Or maybe it is just that I am used to bourbon and American whiskey. Today I will be on a Canadian whiskey tasting tour. It will be interesting to see how I feel about Canadian which I have not sampled in decades now.

I usually dont trust cask finishing, because (and maybe I'm paranoid) it can be a red flag the underlying distillate wasn't that good and the cask finish is an attempt to mask or change a dissapointing original outcome. Should've stuck with my gut of avoiding these types of offerings.
rzelinka
On my final day in the Pacific Northwest I stopped at Twa Dogs distillery. If you’re a fan of Irish whisky or scotch whisky, you are likely to enjoy this.
