What bottle did you open in 2025 ?

First sip was excellent! I must admit, when I buy MM, it's usually the 101. The only Private Selects I've sampled were from 2 stores near me, and while good, didn't persuade me to pick up a bottle. This is much better than both of those. To me, the nose is really outstanding and complex - honey, vanilla, chocolate graham cracker - I could go on.

Which staves or combination did they choose.

This bottle came to me via @FacePlant for winning the SB Fantasy Football league.

I oversold this bottle so bad pre-season it ended up being the last bottle picked, and one nobody wanted. :) If I had a lick of sense I'd have offered to send $50 to JS and he might have bit?

Through a glitch in the matrix, I was somehow able to switch my economy flight this week to an earlier departure first class seat for $1.13.

I celebrated beating the system by asking the nice flight attendant for a Buffalo Trace “to go”.

Opened and enjoying it tonight.

Good Stuff!

It has always been my go to, daily pour. I accumulated a lot of these while we were living in NC years ago. The ABC board store I was friendly with usually had either the 750ml or the 1.75 on sale alternating months. So when the handles were on sale, I would grab one during my weekly truck check in. Forgot I still had this many in the box from when we moved. There is a clear difference in taste when you do a SBS with it and a current bottling.

Nice!  Yes the 12hr was so freaking rich on the palate.

That is my favorite E mashbill.  I can't wait to try it. They haven't made it to my area yet.

Prost!!  Phil

I really like it.  Very crushable.  I like Four Roses at 100 proof.  I'm so glad they decided to release these "lesser" bottlings at a relatively low price but still at a healthy 100 proof.

Had a craving for EC BP - haven’t had one open in awhile - so grabbed a B523 from the cabinet.

It’s a fun way of saying that burbs was very drinkable and tasty yah hipster.

"Crushable" is a slang term for a well-balanced beverage that's easy to drink and tasty.

Interested to compare these ever since i read a review of the new BiB.

Left:  brand new release - BiB 7 year, Bulleit's first ever release of their own distillate.  This one is getting good reviews in the whiskey media already.  Price I paid:  $46

Right:  2020's Blender's Select, a 9 year blend of NDP bourbon. I emptied one of these bottles back when they were first released and it was so good I bunkered two more. My favorite Bulleit product I've tasted yet.  Price paid: no record of this bottle but the best I recall is ~$50ish

Both are 100 proof... so a fair fight.

Will report back how their own make at 7 years stacks up to the reference product.

Just to follow up.  I really like the new Bulleit BiB.  It's definitely worth the amount I spent.  If I were going to describe the taste, I would say it's like a high rye version of New Riff that's been aged a bit longer in the barrel.  For me, that's a compliment.  I can confidently recommend it.  Especially if you are a New Riff fan, give this one a shot.

Having said that, I still prefer the Blender's Select.  It's just an extremely well-balanced high rye bourbon, and in the end perhaps the fact the whiskies were aged longer and were a blend of different whiskies was just too much of an advantage.

Both are excellent for $50 or under.  I've never been a fan of Bulleit the company, but this new release of their own distillate puts me on notice moving forward.

Having read what a few of you had to say about the Bulleit BiB, I stopped after work and purchased a bottle. I never disliked Bulleit, but it never really was a go to/had to have bourbon for me. This changes the game. I'm really enjoying this.

I pick up a standard Evan Williams black label from time to time.  $15.  As usual, the one I picked up today and sipping now far exceeds expectations, though my expectations expect it to exceed expectations…🙂
