wildcatdon
Has anyone tried this? I absolutely love this particular Makers rendition. Thoughts?
LW25
I bought one when it came out. It just helped confirm for me that Maker's Mark isn't my jam. It was fine, definitely wasn't bad, but it was very forgettable to me. The only reason I drank as much of it as I did was that I purposefully went back to it every couple of weeks to see if it had opened up more. Ended up giving it half-full to a buddy who wanted to try it and was having trouble locating one. He loved it, said it was his favorite MM outside of the Cellar Aged, and it reinvigorated him to hunt even harder for a backup.
ThirstyinOhio
I liked the Heart much more than the new Keeper's release
LW25
Went to a bottle share last week and someone brought the new Keeper's Release. I liked it more than I thought I would because it tasted almost like a toasted or double oaked bourbon...no idea if it is one or not...but it didn't wow me. As I posted earlier, Makers Mark largely misses for my palate, and I've mostly learned that wheaters in general are like that for me. I tend to gravitate to the bold and spicy notes from ryes more. So don't take this as a condemnation of the Keepers Release either, there were several at the party that enjoyed it.
