smokinjoe
Since the weather is warming, I went out and picked up my 4R Yella Label for the garage freezer. Looks like I’m going to have to get busy smokin’ that leftover from Thanksgiving turkey breast if I hope to get it in there!!
bayouredd
I may have given up drinking bourbon for Lent, but it doesn't mean that I have given up spending money to prepare for Easter...

I have to wait a lot longer than you. Being in Florida this past week was divine and I wish I would have had a mini freezer in the hotel room for one of these.

My daughter is moving homes and needs some more to (mostly) complete the transition this weekend. They make excellent protective transport for glassware, etc! Anyway, I was offered a taste of his latest private pick, RRSB. Only 9+ years old; but, a stellar pour! So, of course I had to take one home with me. I'd have grabbed two; but, didn't have that much cash on hand. @ $75, not cheap; but, as I said: Wonderful Whiskey! (Actually, I've only ever tasted one private pick of RR that wasn't excellent.) It'll probably be a while before I uncork this, though. I have so much stuff open, it's obscene! Those picks are amazing, at least the one's that I've tried, and I wouldn't have hesitated to pull the trigger on it either!

Anwalt
Another Michters drop in PR...M10 B & M10 R $173 [all prices include sales tax], M Toasted Barrel Strength Rye ('23) $115 [I really like this one a lot], Toasted bourbon (not BS) $127 [Not a fan], Shenks (I think '23) $120, Bomberger '24 $127. Not sure if I can get more M10B & TBSR - those go fast. The remainder are still easy to get. Happy to bring what I can get to Bardstown for anyone who wants some. ebo
As some of you know, I've been a bit down on Four Roses lately. They used to be a go to Bourbon for me, but.......... So, the reason I'm posting about FR is.... can any of you suggest/recommend one of the recipes of the new SiB'S? I want to purchase one ...or the ones you guys like, and see if I'm really still a fan of FR. Edited April 3 by ebo spelling

LW25
Landed the 14 yesterday from a store I've recently gotten acquainted with. Cracked it open and shared a taste with the owner and he knocked a little off the price as a result. Also picked up his new Russell's SP, 9 yr old from TY-F whse.

Among the new "red label" single barrel releases at 100 proof, the available recipes (for now) are OESK, OESO and OBSF. I've purchased all three but have only opened the OESO so far. I really like the OESO. It's a sweet and pleasant pour, albeit not very complex. At barrel proof, OESK is normally my favorite recipe, and I'm interested in how it will be at 100 proof. Many reviewers prefer the OBSF which has a higher rye content and is said to hold up very well at 100 proof. And don't forget about standard OBSV, still one of my very favorite recipes. LW25
I love going out of town, having the opportunity to hunt in a new place. Wasn't hunting allocated stuff, just looking for bottles that I can't get back home. Never seen the Russell's SB Rye, only ever see Holladay BIB stuff (Rickhouse Proof not distributed where I am). New red label Four Roses haven't made it to my state yet either. First time seeing the new A batch ECBP. And I've been hunting a Bardstown Disco 11 forever, and all I see back home is Disco 8 or 9. Struck up a great conversation with one store owner, told him his store had been recommended by a guy I met at another store, so that name drop plus the fact that I had three bottles on the counter to buy led to him offering me the Blanton's SFTB for $175. All in all an awesome out of town hunt.
Double C's
When things go on sale, I sometimes can't help myself. The wt101 & bardstown wheated are backups, but the Penelope wheated is a first time purchase for me.

It was a great bottle.
PaulO
I was out running errands and decided to drop by a store I seldom visit anymore. I used to work close by, bought a lot of nice bottles there back in the day. Anyway, since I was in the neighborhood, had to check it out. I was happy to find VOB 100, bought both bottles. That is not an easy one to find around here. One other place that sometimes has it is way out on East Southport Rd. I passed, but noted and will probably return for JTS Brown. I saw, but decided were too expensive - HMcK @ $60, and Bond & Lillard @ $70 (and that's a 375ml ).
