ebo
Having a rather large pour of OF 1920 tonight. I have to get another bottle before I empty this one.
Anwalt
Flock night with a friend. All of the bottles were excellent. The RR15 lives up to the hype. The 80th anniversary was quite good, better than I expected. It went down so very, very easily.

Never having seen RR15 in the wild I am shooting for a pour at the distillery, I don’t know if they will have it. NEAT has opened in B-town which might be an option as well. I’ve heard nothing but good things, given my affinity for WT I don’t doubt it so my curiosity is piqued.

kcgumbohead
Both!! The anticipation is even greater this year, we usually take a holiday around St. Patrick’s day to break up that too long stretch between New Years and Memorial Day but that didn’t happen this year and work has been particularly intense so, hell yes I’m ready!! Back on topic, 4RSB. Edited April 15 by kcgumbohead

Kalessin
I was digging around in the cabinet bar after thinking about this forum, where I haven't been active for quite some time. Life has been very busy, and I have almost no time to be social online. This is a photo I posted in the Spring 2020 "What bourbon are you drinking" thread: The same bottle and same glass today, after some tasting: The Four Roses Mariage 2009 (before the name change to Small Batch Limited Edition and now I guess it's Small Batch Select) is still one of the best whiskies I have ever tasted. I count myself lucky that the flavor in the bottle is just as good now as it was in 2020. The toddler I mentioned in the 2020 post is now a fine first-grader, and he exhausts me just the same. markandrex
Some 2023 13th Colony Double Oaked after several hours in a doctors office for a lower back pull/sprain. I passed on the pain killers, so there may be a few refills tonight.
Thomm
Easter is traditionally a time for ham, so we will lead up to it this week with a healthy portion of Turkey. WT 101 from a nearly empty decanter, with the Brewers taking care of the Tigers on the tubeless flat screen. Is it Friday yet?

I am fortunate that my son lives in Atlanta and goes near the distillery for work. We made a stop there on a visit and the staff is great. The DO has a lot of complex flavors. It is MGP that is barreled and aged in Ga. They play with flavoring staves and the Ga. temperature swings really work the liquid in/out of the wood. Their regular rye and bourbon are good daily sippers at $45. Their rye single barrel picks are outstanding.
markandrex
Also, they used to put out a sour mash whiskey with a pale green label. Its last bottling was over-aged due to a bottle shortage during the pandemic. It is amazing if you ever see some. They shut down production to make time for other offerings.

That used to sit on shelves around me years ago but I never gave it a try because I didn't have any clue about the brand (can't buy everything). I believe they used to also have a corn whiskey that I wish I'd have picked up when it was around.
