rzelinka
I picked up a bottle of Old Forester King Ranch yesterday for $79. My local Spec's had it for $12 off. I had stayed away from it as the reviews have not been great. That aside, I cracked it open last night and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the bottle. Happy I bought it. Anyone else given it a try?
LW25
I've long been an OF fan so when I went to Houston for work in early 2024 I made it my mission to find it. I had assumed it was prevalent, but it took me one Total Wine and 4 different Spec's before I finally found it. Bought two, bunkered one, still have about half of the other in the bottle. I enjoy it, but it's not worth the $85 I paid for it. If it were same price as 1920 I'd be much happier.
rzelinka
Yeah, I get it. My favorite is 1910, although the single barrel is very good too. I am excited to try the 1924. It should arrive this week.

I want to say that the first release of King Ranch was selling for $65 to 75. But when the second wave of it hit the market a few months later the price shot up to $85 to 90. I never bought a bottle because of the price.

That said, at $90 it's a bit high. I got it for $80. Still too high, but I was intrigued.

Sometimes it's worth it for the experience. As much as I complain about overpriced bourbons, I purchase them myself often just out of curiosity.
