rzelinka
Not sure if Widow Jane qualifies as a craft bourbon, but I see it all the time, but always pass. Anyone tried Widow Jane before?
Scotch_Collector
Yes, it is good if you like oakier bourbons. Wood forward if I recall. The 10 year is nice and not as woody as the cask strength special editions, although those are definitely richer. Flavor wise, the 10 year is probably a medium body. They used to have a 7 or 8 year which was a good balanced bourbon, but I am not sure if it is still available. I do not see it on the company website. The Apple wood rye is pretty unique and I enjoy that. For the price, I would lean more towards store picks that are barrel proof. However, I like a punch in the face of flavor and tend not to gravitate to very oaky bourbons.

The decadence is a maple infused. That one may be a little too sweet. That said, I do enjoy Old Forester 1910 and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked

Let us know what you think.
rzelinka
I have considered the 15 year variety too but there's quite a price jump between the 13 and 15 year. $250 for the 15 year seems high to me.

I often find the 10 to be better than the 13. It was just a 7yr and then an 8yr years ago, and may have even been better back then.
rzelinka
I have tried to find a bar to sample it but thus far, it’s been a no go. The 10 year is about $70 locally. A store pick is $95.
