steven s
looks good, and I applaud BT for giving it a MSRP of $49, but I'm sure demand and retailers will push it way, way above this. Knowing this, hopefully BT is prepared to meet this demand.

Knowing this, hopefully BT is prepared to meet this demand. I hope you are wrong. There will be the tater stores that have not realized that the boom is over and over charge but I would lime to think the rest are coming around and seeing that they can not take advantage of the bourbon folx anymore. I do live in a fantasy world! Lol I also think most major distillers can meet the demand but choose not to to create a false supply shortage. In some ways I think this is their way of "trying" to combat the secondary market, being tater stores or douche bags selling illegally. Think of how our gooberment operates. IMO, same philosophy. They are out of touch on how the real world works. They think that releasing something shiny and new will drive their sells. It will. But, like for example, WT 8yr, you better have a higher quality product at an acceptable price for it to move or it will not do what they expect. ( in the long run ) And I think this is what will happen with WT 8YR. Quality vs price vs OUR demand. We all lime something new, BUT if it does not meet OUR standards, especially now with the craze dwindling, the sales will fly up but then take a dramatic drop if it does not meet the standards of the bourbonites. I think the distilleries are grasping for attention ($$$) by barrelling and NOT btling what they could have for the last 8ish-yrs. They knew the end was in site long before us and the only way to keep the demand up was to release something new and/or different to try and keep interest at a profitable place for them. Most distilleries did NOT raise their prices any where near what distributors, LQ stores or flippers did in the last 10yrs. They complained lime the rest of us and did nothing to change the situation. I could be wrong. I have been drinking.

I visited the BT facility for the first time in 2012, and returned 3 more times by 2017. Today, I have zero interest in going there anymore. The scene there of people lining up for bottles every single day (instead of just enjoying the beautiful grounds and touring the actual distillery) really turns me off. Aesthetically, it's one of my favorite distilleries. I can go back and back again just for that. The scene I want no part of.

If my best local monger (Spec's) offers me one for msrp I'll certainly buy it. Otherwise I don't feel I'll be missing anything. Got plenty of BT expressions to scratch that itch when needed.

New(ish) age stated bourbon to try from a major distiller. What's not good about that?

BUT, I give a damn because I like ER but I am not going to over pay for it if there is dust in the air or when the dust settles. Higher proof, extra age, and from BT, I look forward to trying it. I should clarify. I like ER10 quite a bit and will buy it if I see at msrp. I will certainly buy ER12 under the same circumstances. There's no way however that I would be in that big line at BT. I'm not willing to chase anymore. It will come to me in time.

LW25
Wish they'd released this at 101 proof. I don't see me going out of the way at all to find this unless I stumble across it at MSRP, and if the availability of ER10 is any indication as to the availability of ER12 then it'll be a couple years (and likely out of state) before I buy it.
