Anwalt
I love this one. Syrupy, low burn, oakey, but way less than anticipated. But not as thin & oakey as EC18.

MM818
@JGrassa I’m a fan of their offerings. This bottle has similar specs to the bottle you shared. This is MGP that drinks like Bookers. Which I like! Thanks for giving me the idea to reach for this one.

Grady330
Woodford Dbl Oak, WT101 8 Year, so good but has dried up here after being told it was sustainable. Sad. Nashville Barrel.

I traded 4 OWA & 1 WSR for it, so about 400 FMV & 225 cost to me. I'd happily make that trade again. At least for me it beat the heck out of standing in line 1,500 miles away and paying $300 MSRP. Yesterday's got better after 30 minutes. Less ethanol, more flavor. The carmel & the oak played quite well together. There are more hints in there I cannot quite name.

Haven't had that but if it is anything like the Old Heaven Hill Ultra Premium 21 year from the 90s, it is won't disappoint. That was one of the best bourbons I've ever tasted.
JGrassa
My first glass of Bomberger's Declaration 2025. My first glass of any Bomberger's in some years tbh. Just opened a short while ago, so it may need some air. It is very good no doubt, but I am wondering if it is actually meeting the buzz it seems to be getting. Any thoughts on this? My impression is that it is somewhere between a Russel's Reserve Single Barrel, and Bookers. It has a touch of that medicinal cherry note that I like in Russel's, but also a bit of the peanut notes I get from Bookers. Definitely highlights charred oak, with some vanilla, and a great deal of spice.

I’ve heard edition #2 is out, but I haven’t seen it in Texas yet I saw these early on. It passed on them. Double C's Posted yesterday at 11:18 PM Share Posted yesterday at 11:18 PM haven't had much bourbon this summer for no specific reason, but broke out some freedom bird for the 4th while dinner is one the grill.

I usually prefer wheated bourbons, but I didn't love the HH GTG Wheated. I am not big on ryes, but this HH GTG rye is very drinkable, at least for my palate, but the GTG traditional bourbon (blue and white label) is by far my favorite of the 3 and probably the only 1 I would buy again.
Richnimrod
Finished off another "sample bottle"; Col. EH Taylor 4-Grain from about 5 or 6-years ago. Not a particularly complex pour; but, a nice one nonetheless.

Skinsfan1311
I took some BT in a small flask, tossed it in a cooler. I took a few small pulls from it at the party and we just got home. I didn't feel like pouring it back in the bottle, so I emptied it into glass. I haven’t had chilled BT in a long time. It's pretty damn good... MM818
Last pour of the night. Out back watching the illegal fireworks with the family. Great day. Started with a 5K race, the dog won Best in Show at our little cities annual Pet Show, and finished the day off at a pool party. 4th of July’s never get old!

After reading this, I just decided to retaste it and reassess my price. I was already low for the market at $159.99, but I still just lowered it to $139.99. If the cost is this high from the distributor next year, I will be passing even on the wholesale side of things.
